The East European region has always attracted the attention of the international community and was a stumbling block between the leaders of the western and eastern civilization. Ukraine is the largest country in the region with great development potential, takes a key role in balance of power and spheres of influence across the continent.
Ukraine's foreign policy preferences has long been influenced on both the internal politics of the state, and the influence of the ratio between the major "players" on the political map of the world: EU, USA and Russia, as also largely depends on their policy regarding Ukraine itself. Ukraine's participation in the contemporary geopolitical processes, its positioning and foreign policy priorities will play an important role in the redistribution of influence in Europe and in the world, and particularly affect the development of relations between the world powers.
