Schneider Electric is happy to announce the launch of a new competition for students interested in energy efficiency: ISES 2030 BRIC Video Predictions Contest

2030 BRIC Video Predictions Contest will provide four students with full bursaries to attend International Students Energy Summit which includes a $1,000 travel voucher, complimentary delegate registration and accommodation during the event (June 13-15).

The International Student Energy Summit (ISES) is a global forum that focuses on sustainable resource management and the role that students will play in defining the future of energy development. ISES targets international, multidisciplinary post secondary students in undergraduate and graduate studies interested in energy. The event is occurring in Trondheim, Norway from June 13-15, 2013.

Contest Details:

The goal of this contest is simple, Schneider Electric wants to hear your thoughts on what impact the BRIC Countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China) will have in the global energy ecosystem between now and the year 2030. We don’t want this to be an exercise in wild predictions, but a thoughtful, creative approach to thinking about what role these 4 important countries will play over the next 20 years.

The steps to apply

1. Create your video (maximum two minute)

2. Upload to video to youtube or vimeo before April 22, 2013

3. Submit your video link to facebook: http://www.facbeook.com/studentenergy or on twitter at http://www.twitter.com/ISES using the phrase “My submission for the @ISES 2030 BRIC Video Predictions Contest presented by @SchneiderElec – YOUR VIDEO URL”

4. Share your post – extra recognition will be given to videos that generate conversation or additional insight

Judging Criteria

The videos will be judged based on:

· Creativity

· Clarity of predictions (be specific!)

· Feasibility of your predictions

· Balance

o How effectively do your predictions challenge the current status quo while staying rooted in an understanding of what is realistically possible

All winners will be announced within one week of the contest closing.
