Ladies and Gentlemen!

We are very pleased to announce that the 15th International Multilingual Festival of Youth Theatres "FIESTA" will take place in Perm from 21 to 25 May 2013. The Festival is organized by Perm Francophone Theater “ Vis-à-Vis” and Perm State University of National Research with the support of Ministry of Culture, Youth Policy and Mass Communications of the Perm Region and Perm City Duma.

Performances, various shows and workshops of acting, forums, tours around the city of Perm and the Perm Region, international evenings – all of these will be held within 5 days of the Festival.

We invite teams of professional and amateur theaters from different countries playing shows in Russian, French, Spanish, English, German or other foreign languages to participate in our festival.

Out of received applications the best 10-15 plays that will make up the program of the Festival will be selected by the Organizing Committee of the Festival. In addition, each team must prepare a small piece in the genre of street theater.

The Festival gathers together its members on 2 stage areas (in the concert hall and on the small stage of the Student Cultural Palace of Perm State University of National Research) and on the open-air sites.

Competent judges will choose the best performance of the Festival and, in addition, all the participants will receive prizes and souvenirs.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

For theatre teams:

Ø each team may consist of no more than 10 members, including accompanying adults who are responsible for their team over the period of the Festival;

Ø all countries, except for Russia, may be represented only by 1 team. Demonstration of some of performances by one team is not prohibited;

Ø The Organizing Committee of the Festival guarantees nonresident participants accommodation in a hotel, meals, transfers from airport / railway station on arrival and departure, information support;

Ø nonresident participants of the Festival pay their transport costs (a road to the city of Perm and the way back) on their own;

Ø nonresident Festival participants pay the registration fee in the amount of 50 € for each team member;

Ø the Festival implies the obligation of each participant to attend all the events held during
the Festival;

Ø team won the Grand Prix at the Festival last year is exempt from paying the registration fee and is automatically considered as a member of the Festival the following year;

Ø Festival program and rehearsal schedule of teams are made by the Organizing Committee of the Festival and can not be changed on the initiative of team leaders during the Festival;

Ø Organizing Committee of the Festival reserves the right to disqualify a member or leader of the team or the whole team for violation of these rules of the Festival or unethical behavior towards members of the Organizing Committee, the members of the jury or other groups of the Festival. This group will be removed from the competition program of the year and lose its ability to participate in the festival of next years.

For performance:

Ø Organizing Committee of the Festival invites theater groups representing performances in Russian and foreign languages (French, German, English, Spanish, Japanese, etc.);

Ø duration of each performance must not exceed 40 minutes;

Ø performance should be adapted to the specifications of the host site. Groups may request some specific settings (light, sound, etc.) just before their performance. Each team will be provided with the stage-hands and specialists to work with the light and sound equipment;

Ø rehearsal time at the site (work with sound equipment and stage lighting, installation of decorations) – 2 hours;

Ø for the audience to know a contents of a performance preparing of posters and/or playbills is desirable;

Ø the Festival is open to all creative initiatives of participants. So, if someone wants to make a performance (song, prose, etc.) beyond the competition program the Organizing Committee will provide with maximum assistance to implement it;

Ø besides the main play all teams must prepare a small piece in the genre of street theater to attract the audience's attention to their play, their country or their troupe. This can be a presentation (announcement) of a performance, a separate mini-performance in one of the following genres: comedy “dell'Arte”, street, fair theater, burlesque, slapstick, farce, sketch, circus, clown, mime, mystery … Such action should not require a lot of technical equipment and be more than
20 minutes.

Attention!

Applications for participation should be sent to Organizing Committee of the Festival filled in and with video and 2-3 photos of performance by e-mail till March, 10, 2013 (or as soon as possible). Teams which didn't send performance video can't be included in the Festival program.

It is extremely important that participants have indicated the dates and an arrival and departure time, a type of the vehicle, flight/train or car No. (even preliminary information) till May 10, 2013 to confirm accommodation and transfer booking.
