Stacked flat for safety

Each blood bag is placed flat in the blister package in order to prevent wrinkles and tube kinking which can cause complications during blood collection and fractionation.

For easy recognition of blood bag type, blister packages are

colour-coded.

Protected against deterioration

Both the blood bag and the solution contained in it are guaranteed safe for 2-1/2 years thanks to Terumo's unique blister package design which includes a special oxygen absorber. What's more, this design is an effective barrier against steam and gas. It also protects the unopened blood bags from contamination with microorganisms.

Easy confirmation of airtightness

Air pressure within the package is slightly lower, due to the oxygen absorber resulting in noticeable indentations on the top film. This makes it easy to confirm the package's airtightness and ensure that it contains no leaks.
