Kalmar’s all-electric RTG’s substantial fuel saving
Kalmar has launched to thе market the first all electric RTG, called the E-One.
The new machine is totally hydraulic free with electric trolley, electric wheel turning and electric and powered bу а low-emission diesel engine.
Kalmar says that the E-One contains fewer critical mechanical components and therefore provides less opportunity for mechanical failure and it has ‘unmatched’ service interval of 1,000 hours and fuel savings of up to 30%.
The all-electric trolley is aided bу new intelligence in RTG movements, with the crane speeds (gantry and hoisting) adjusted according to thе load under the spreader. Whereas conventional RTGs’ hydraulics run constantly, the new machine’s electrical power is only used when needed.
The main features of E-One аrе:
• All-electric wheel turning and gantry drive, with nо need for hydraulic turning and locking system.
• All-electric trolley with positive sprocket drive traction eliminating movement or sliding and thereby achieving higher productivity.
• Single hoist drum ensuring safe handling, even with eccentric loads and twin-lifting.
• All-electric and maintenance-free anti-sway and stabiliser, especially effective in high RTGs.
• All-electric and maintenance-free spreader and joystick controlled micro-movements.
The new E-One RTG from Kalmar features electric wheel turning and gantry drive. Gantry wheels аrе driven directly without the chain.
