Preliminaries

Today we will continue the theme “national cuisine”. We will speak about food, different kinds of dishes, and also we will speak about second conditionals, we will get to know how to form and use it.

Time: 4 minutes

2. Listening. The pupils listen to the radio programme. After listening they must say what ingredients a pancake consists of.

3.Speaking. The pupils speak about food they like and dislike, they give reasons.

Now I want you to speak a little bit. Speak about food you like and dislike, give your reasons.

4. Writing and speaking. The pupils imagine that they are owners of the restaurants. They write a menu. And then show it to their classmates.

Imagine that you are the owner of a very good restaurant. Give your restaurant a name. Write a menu. Offer at least three items each for starters, main courses, side dishes, salads and desserts. Display your work.

Time: 5 minutes

5. Speaking. The pupils have a discussion.

Let’s discuss the following questions:

· What do you think about English food? Do you like it, or you prefer Ukrainian food?

· Do you think an English restaurant would be a success if it opened in your town? Why(not)?

6. Writing. The pupils are given cards. The task is to complete each sentence with a word in box.

7. Speaking. The pupils take turns asking and answering the questions. Page 64, Ex. 3.

8. Writing. Grammar. The pupils Complete the sentences by changing the verbs in brackets to make 2nd Conditionals.
