Mrs. Wishy Washy

Read the story “Mrs. Wishy Washy” by Bill Martin Jr and Eric Carle. If you don’t have this book, you may be able to borrow it from your local library. As you read the story, each time you say wishy washy, slap your hands

together and slide them, like your hands are dirty and your trying to brush off the dirt, encourage the children to do it with you.

Activity: You will need one small bowl per child (tub) and as you read the story about the pig and you say the pig goes into the tub, encourage each child to put their pig, into the tub (small sturdy plastic bowl), repeat with

the cow and the duck.

Print out the pig, duck and cow, onto white cardstock paper; print out enough for each child to get one of each animal picture (keep for art time).

SPECIAL ACTIVITY TIME

Bob’s Bingo - Lotto Game

Have the children play Bob’s bingo, the fish named Bob, the bird named Bob, the horse named Bob, (animals from the book that they read at circle time) and give each of the children a Bob’s bingo – played as a lotto game and teacher will place all the matching lotto game pieces into a small cloth bag or pillowcase. Have the children take turns picking a game piece from the bag, if it matches their game board then they will put the piece onto their board, if it doesn’t match their game board then they will put the piece back into the bag, and the next child goes. Continue until someone fills their game board up, or continue until all the children fill up their game boards.

Directions: You will need to print out two of each Bob’s bingo, played as a lotto game that you decide to use; one card will be the game board. The other set will be cut apart to be the lotto game cards. Print these out onto

heavy paper such as white card stock paper for best results. You may want to cover the lotto game pieces with clear contact paper to make them more durable. Have the children match the animal cards to the matching animals on the game board.

Note. You may want to place Velcro on the backs of the cards and onto the front of the game board. Make sure you have the Velcro in the same place so they will stick together.

Print out two sets of each of the bob’s bingo file. There are 20 bingo games to choose from.
