LEARNING TIME

Find The Farm Animals

Read the story “Fifteen Animals!” By Sandra Boynton if you don’t own this story you may be able to borrow it from your local library.

Activity: Teacher will ask the children to help her round up all the farm animals as they have all disappeared from the barn, teacher will have the children help her find the missing farm animals and put them back into the

barn. You may want to print out the barn picture (shown above) onto heavy paper such as white cardstock paper and tape it to the front of the tent for a pretend barn or to the front of a box for a pretend barn.

Teacher will hide toy farm animals in plain sight around the outside play area for the children to find and put into the tent or a box (pretend barn).Or print out the farm animal match up cards, cut the farm animal cards apart hide them around the inside or outside play area, as the children find the farm animals have them place them inside the toy tent as a pretend barn or inside a large box for a pretend barn.

Stuffed animals or study plastic toy animals such as horses, cows, chickens, ducks, goat, sheep or print out the farm animal match up file, cut the cards apart and use those instead. To make a pretend barn to put the farm animals into you will need a toddler safe tent or a box for a pretend barn.
