I. Insert the missing prepositions where necessary:

IV. Translate the following situations into English using your active vocabulary:

(1) У мистера Саймона появилась привычка проводить вечера в пабе и приходить домой навеселе, поэтому он и миссис Саймон не очень ладили. Их постоянные ссоры были всем известны в городке. Их развод был принят как должное.

(2) Когда Билл появился в моём доме среди ночи, у меня были дурные предчувствия, но я не могла спросить его прямо, гонится ли за ним полиция. А он сам не хотел ничего объяснять.

(3) В своей речи адвокат пытался оправдать миссис Паркер. Он привлек внимание присяжных к тому факту, что она во всем призналась. Но его усилия не подействовали на присяжных. Они её не пощадили.
