· Development of tourism in Belarus should be directed mainly at foreign tourists. For development in this direction protected areas are preferred, each of which has its own characteristics. Environmental agencies offer hiking in pristine natural landscapes, photo hunting of rare animals and birds that are in natural conditions, familiarity with the flora and fauna of mires. Except already noted, hiking, skiing, biking and water trips, excursions to places of growing berries, mushrooms and medicinal plants, historical places, fishing trips, visits to museums of nature, cages with wild animals are defined.

· A well-developed drainage network allows us to develop water tourism. Recently restored and transformed into popular tourist sites monuments of hydraulic engineering XVIII-XIX centuries are August, the Dnieper-Bug, Oginski channels, Berezina water system

· Promising for the development can be identified such specific forms of tourism as medical, educational, scientific, event. Their goals are to provide quality and relatively low-cost dental care in the area, language education, scientific activities (seminars, conferences, consultation), culture (the celebrations of the important dates, festivals, etc.).

Let’s summarize all we’ve looked at.

Increased tourism to sensitive natural areas without appropriate planning and management can threaten the integrity of ecosystems and local cultures. The increase of visitors to ecologically sensitive areas can lead to significant environmental degradation. Likewise, local communities and indigenous cultures can be harmed in numerous ways by an influx of foreign visitors and wealth. Additionally, fluctuations in climate, currency exchange rates, and political and social conditions can make over-dependence upon tourism a risky business.

However, this same growth creates significant opportunities for both conservation and local communities. Ecotourism can provide much-needed revenues for the protection of national parks and other natural areas -- revenues that might not be available from other sources.

Additionally, ecotourism can provide a viable economic development alternative for local communities with few other income-generating options. Moreover, ecotourism can increase the level of education and activism among travelers, making them more enthusiastic and effective agents of conservation.
