3. Which paragraph describes the importance of management in an organisation?

One reason management is so important is that organisations are so important. We live in a world of organizations. For most of our lives, we are members of one organisation or another – a college, a sports team, a musical or theatrical group, a branch of the armed forces, or a business.

All organizations, formal and informal, have several elements in common. Perhaps the most obvious of these basic elements is a goal or purpose. The goal may be different - to win a championship, to entertain an audience, to sell a product – but without a goal no organization would have a reason to exist. All organizations also have some programme or method for achieving their goals. Organisations must also acquire and allocate the resources necessary to achieve their goals. All organizations are made up of people and depend on other organizations for their successful work. Finally, all organizations have leaders or managers responsible for helping them achieve their goals.

Organisations bring together knowledge, people, and raw materials to perform the tasks that no individual could do alone. How successfully an organization achieves its goals, satisfies social responsibilities, or both, depends, to a large extent, on its managers. If managers do their job well. The organization will probably achieve its goals. Without effective management, organization is likely to fail. Without organization there is no management. But without management there is no organization.
