Practice translating from Russian into English

This is Elizabeth. She is an architect. She lives in a cute small house on a tree. Every day she goes to work by bike. When the weather is bad, she takes a bus. At the weekend she meets with her best friend. Her best friend’s name is Mr. Scarecrow. He lives in a field near her house. He is tall, skinny and very friendly. He has a big head and long arms. He doesn’t have a bottom, because he’s a scarecrow. Right now they are sitting in the field and chatting. It’s warm, the sun is shining, birds are singing and Elizabeth doesn’t want to go home.

Это Элизабет. Она архитектор. Она живет в милом маленьком доме на дереве. Каждый день она ездит на работу на велосипеде. Когда погода плохая, она едет на автобусе. На выходных она встречается со своим лучшим другом. Ее лучшего друга зовут мистер Пугало. Он живет в поле рядом с ее домом. Он высокий, тощий и очень дружелюбный. У него большая голова и длинные руки. У него нет попы, потому что он пугало. Прямо сейчас они сидят в поле и болтают. Тепло, светит солнце, поют птички, и Элизабет не хочет идти домой.

Right, that’s Present Continuous! [ am/is/are+Ving ] Translate these sentences from English into Russian.

But not all the verbs can be in Present Continuous. Some of them can only live in Present Simple. All the verbs in this table can only be in PRESENT SIMPLE! Never on Present Continuous.

Think*- non-cont только в значении «думать, иметь мнение, полагать» I think you’re right/I’m thinking about my future now.

Have* - non-cont только в значении «иметь, обладать» I have a cat/I’m having a shower.

Taste* - non-cont только в значении «иметь вкус, быть на вкус» The cake tastes great/I’m tasting a cake now

Smell* - non-cont только в значении «источать запах, пахнуть» The flowers smell wonderful/I’m smelling the flowers

See* - non-cont только в значении «видеть» I don’t see Bob,where is he?/I’m seeing my friend after work tonight.
