TOPIC Abdullah, a student from a middle eastern country, has come to study in Australia, but finds that some of the considerations of his religion, such as daily prayers, are not recognised at his school. He wants to be a successful student, but also wants to be faithful to his religion.
SAMPLE INTRODUCTION:
International students studying in Australia often experience challenges arising from the cultural differences between Australia and their home countries. One such difference, commonly experienced, is the difference in religious culture. This report will explore the difficulties that may arise relating to differing religious cultures by examination of the case of Abdullah, a student from Oman. Because Abdullah's school does not recognise Muslim religious necessities, Abdullah is experiencing conflict between his wish to be a good student and his wish to be faithful to his religion. The report will begin with a statement of the problem, which will be followed by a suggestion of possible solutions and an evaluation of these solutions. Finally, a choice will be made regarding the best solution followed by some observations and recommendations relating to the wider issues presented by this case.
