Choosing a profession.

Choosing a profession is not an easy matter. There are a lot of professional fields I can work in. It is important to choose the profession that suits my interests.

There are some categories in professional fields: practical, nature, general service, scientific, outdoor (active), computational, social, artistic.

As for me, I’m (not) interested in caring for people and helping them with their problems. I would (n’t) like a job which offers a service to other people.

I’m (not) good at working with figures or solving mathematical problems.

I (don’t) like making things with my own hands.

I’m (not) interested in working with plants or animals.

I think it will help me in my future career.

When I was a child I wanted to be a…. Many children want to be policemen, firemen, doctors and teachers. Some children want to choose their parents’ profession. As for me, I (don’t) like to be a … like my father or a …. Like my mother.

I think, it’s a good idea to take different factors into account when choosing a profession: job satisfaction, money, friendly atmosphere, good conditions, travel.

Money is an important factor when people choose a job. A bank manager and a professional footballer are highly-paid jobs. A nurse in a hospital, a shop assistant and a teacher are low-paid jobs. Of course, I would like to get a good salary.

I have (n’t) chosen my future profession. I think the profession of … suits my interests. Besides, it is paid well.
