My topic is “My job and daily routine”.

At present I work as a ……… I chose this occupation because I wanted to (or I liked to)……… I like my job because it’s quite interesting and it gives me enough money to enjoy life. My duties are to organize meetings, to meet with customers, to write reports and etc. As for my daily routine, usually I get up at 7 o’clock, then I make my bed and go to the bathroom. I wash myself and then I am ready for breakfast. Usually I have one sandwich and a cup of coffee. At a quarter to eight I leave home and go to work, often on foot, but sometimes by bus. I live next to my office, that’s why it takes me only 15 minutes to get to work. From 8 to 13 I work hard and after that I have a lunch. I like to eat in a nearby café or our company’s canteen. They cook there very well. After lunch I return to work and finish when it is 6 o’clock in the evening. After work I often meet with my friends or go to the gym or etc. Before I go to bed I also like to watch TV or read a book.

3. My topic is «My country and my home»

Russia is the biggest country in the world. It is situated both in Europe and Asia. These two parts are separated by Ural mountains. In Russia there are different types of landscape, such as valleys, forests, heaths and mountains. Our country is rich in water resources. We have a lot of lakes and rivers. I live in Saint-Petersburg, the cultural capital of Russia. It is very beautiful city with a lot of sights and theatres. 5 million people of different nationality live in our country. Nowadays there are lots of immigrants from former Soviet Republic.

I live in a two-room apartment in a 5-storey building. I am lucky to live in the house which is not far from the underground station. Besides there are quite a lot of shops, supermarkets and other useful facilities as gym nearby. I wish there were a park not far from my house. I live on a second floor so I don’t use a lift. I don’t like the view from my windows. I have central heating and double glazing in my flat, that’s why it is always warm and quiet in it. There are two rooms in my flat. And then you just describe your flat.

4. My topic is “My food preferences (Russian (Italian, German and etc.) traditional cuisine)”

The well-known English proverb says: “Tastes differ” and I would like to add “especially in food”. In modern life almost in every city there are lots restaurants of different cuisines. You can choose what you want. As for me, my favorite cuisine is Russian one (or Italin or etc.). I think it is very tasty and nutritious. Russian food is a combination of different types of products, such as meat, fish, cereals and breads, vegetables and diary products.

The most famous Russian dishes are ‘blini’ or pancakes, ‘sirniki’ which is made of flour and cottage cheese, soup ‘schi’, made of meat, cabbage, carrot, potatoes, tomatoes, onion and sour cream. My favorite meals is ……. Then you tell how to prepare it.

Among drinks Russian often like tea, our traditional kvass, compote and others.

Usually I have tree meals a day: breakfast, dinner and supper. Most of the time I eat at home, except lunch break. Sometimes I go to the restaurants and cafes. I don’t like fast food restaurants, because the food they serve is very unhealthy. I prefer quite expensive restaurants where you can try really high-quality food.

5. My topic is “Travelling”

Millions of people all over the world spend their holidays traveling. I am not an exception. I also like to travel and see new countries, old and modern cities, to enjoy picturesque landscape and just to change the scene. It is always interesting to discover smth new, meet new people and of course to practice English.

Those people who live in the country like to go to big cities and visit museums, theatres, art galleries and big department store. But I as a city dweller prefer a quite holiday by the sea, in the mountains or just on the nature. I like to walk, swim and bathe in the sun. I always take a camera with me to take pictures of different sights and views. Usually I prefer to travel by plane or my own car. These are the most convenient and fastest types of traveling. I spent my last holidays in Spain (Greece, Estonia etc.) Tell then what did you see and do there (don’t forget about past tense), what did you like the most and the least, where did you stay?
