UN Ukraine Summer Course 2014: The World We Want” is here!

Building on the success of the first ever UN Ukraine summer course organized in 2013, the United Nations in Ukraine is delighted to invite students from all over Ukraine to send their applications for the “UN Ukraine Summer Course 2014: The World We Want”.

This year’s course will thematically focus on the TOP-6 development priorities expressed by Ukrainians during the Post-2014 Development Agenda National Consultations in Ukraine last year and aim at giving students first-hand experience of the UN work in the Ukrainian context as well as equipping the young participants with some practical tools on how to promote the Ukrainian priorities in their daily lives and later during their professional careers.

The deadline for applying to the course is on 30 June 2014.

Course description

The purpose of the course is to provide students with an overall view of the current development challenges in Ukraine and inform them on the ways the UN is supporting the national counterparts in tackling those. The course will also encourage students to take an active stance towards life and boost active citizenship among them.

The course will consist of six modules reflecting Ukraine’s TOP-6 development priorities, and it will be organized at the UN House in Kyiv during the week from 28 July to 2 August, so that the course meetings will be held in late afternoon/early evening, except the meeting on Saturday 2 August, which will be held around noon.

Once the course meetings are completed, the participants will continue their course work in small groups by planning and carrying out small development projects in their home communities; best three project ideas will also get small funding from the UN Ukraine for their implementation.
