hundred, thousand, million, billion – не принимают – s, когда перед ними стоит другое числительное. Если они определяют неопределённое количество, употребляются во множественном числе с – s, за которым следует предлог of: hundreds of sportsmen, five hundred sportsmen.

Употребление числительных при обозначении хронологических дат

Годы обозначаются количественными числительными и читаются следующим образом:

1500 ВС (Before Christ) - fifteen hundred ВС; one thousand five hundred ВС

1500 AD (Anno Domini) -fifteen hundred AD; one thousand five hundred AD

1900 - nineteen hundred

1907 - nineteen oh seven; nineteen hundred and seven

1983 - nineteen eighty-three; nineteen hundred and eighty-three

2000 - the year two thousand; twenty hundred

2005 - two thousand and five; twenty oh five, twenty hundred and five
