3. Sustainable communities. Community development.

4. Self-organized bodies of population in Ukraine.

1. List some of the international organizations that work out municipal standards and support local self-government.

2. Explain how the UN HABITAT works and what main problems it aims to solve.

Student’s Portfolio – chapter 3: Present the accurately and neat typed or written chapter in a single folder before the beginning of the seminar. 1. Define the sustainable community (max.50 words). 2. Define the community development (max.50 words). 1. Read the European Charter of Local Self-Government (1985). Write a brief description of the document to reflect it main ideas (approx. 200- 300 words).
