Rooms are of twin share for students and equipped with separate bathroom, air-conditioner, Internet access, desk, bed with pillow, quilt and bed sheets, wardrobe, etc. There is coin-in laundry service, kitchen, meeting & chatting room in the International Student Dormitory.

Guangzhou, a metropolitan with nearly 2,300 years of history, is a major city in South China for business and tourism. There are numerous ancient remains dotted around the old urban. Ranking the third in China in economic development, Guangzhou enjoys great prosperity as well as the rich culture. Guangzhou is the birthplace of Cantonese and borders Hong Kong and Macau. It is well-known as the hometown of overseas Chinese.
Guangzhou enjoys pleasant mild sub-tropical climate all the year round. The average annual temperature is between 20℃ and 22℃. Cantonese cuisine is one of the four major food styles of China, which earns a high profile in food reputation and everybody knows the famous compliment - “Eating in Guangzhou”.

The School of International Education (SIE) is an academic school of SCUT which integrates with international student admission, Chinese language teaching, administration and the academic research. Since its establishment in July 2004, SIE has enjoyed steady growth and has expanded considerably in both its number of student and teaching and researching strength.
One of SIE’s missions is to provide high value-added language education and training programs to help the international students to improve their competitiveness in the new knowledge-based economy where China plays a significant role. Besides General Chinese Language Courses and Content-based Chinese programs, SIE delivers Cultural tour and Summer/Winter Camp programs to meet various needs of the international learners.
