Graduate CAD Intern (PhD Student) - 706670
Description
- Works under supervision of a senior research scientist (expert in a CAD domain).
- Plans and executes research activities. Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories, and contributes to scientific literature and conferences. May participate in development of intellectual property.
- The research activities include exploration of existing efforts related to a research topic (both internal and external). The exploration requires engagement with other technical specialists both inside and outside SCL.
- The research should result in developing a new (or modification of existing) algorithm, methodology, or design flow that would bring significant benefits being used in a design team. As usual the research gets resulted in creating a s/w package of a prototyped solution to the problem being investigated. The package should be able to demonstrate the benefits of the solution that was developed on a predefined set of benchmarks.
- Along with the research progress researcher delivers regular updates to his mentor and SCL technical seminar. When research progress brings significant results, researcher is encouraged to publish these.
- Establishes and supports contacts with Academia.
- Attends and actively participates in late night meetings with US peers (in English) from office or home.
Qualifications
You should possess a Bachelor or Master's degree in CAD, Computer Science, or Mathematic and willing to continue with PhD and have their research topic defined by supervising senior research scientist here at Intel.Researcher mindset required with strong analytical capabilities. Strong programming skills (including basic scripting languages and UNIX); 2+ years of s/w development experience. Very good Russian; fluent English; good writing skills.
The following additional qualifications would be a plus:
- Understanding of modern design flows, methods, and problems.
- Good background in front-end automation flows, methods, and algorithms.
- Existing external publications.
- 1+ years electronic CAD experience.
- Good understanding of the modern silicon technology.
