Introduction ----------

Mother -----------

I would like to tell you some words about my family. It consists of 5 people: my Mum, my Dad, my sister, my brother and me. My grandparents don’t live with us.

My sister is eight years younger than me. Ann is under age. She studies at school. She does well at school. Ann is good at natural science. She is a pretty little girl with dark blue eyes and chestnut * hair. My sister and I look like our Dad, but we are like our Mum. We are as tolerant as our mother.

My elder brother Mark is 35, and he isn’t married. I think he is a confirmed * bachelor. He is a businessman. He always works long hours from early morning till late evening. He looks like neither * Mum nor Dad. But he is as industrious * and serious* as our father. He is a tall strong man, broad at the shoulders and thin at the waist. Mark is in the prime of life.

My parents are of the same age. They got married 36 years ago. My father, like my elder brother provides for the family. Both of them are breadwinners. My father Richard Wolfe works at Sydney University as a teacher. He teaches English and Australian Literature. He is a quiet * man, rather shy, but strict with his students, a good listener, not much of a talker. He is in his early fifties, of medium height *, with regular features and fair hair slightly grey at the temples. He has his eyes hazel. He very often plays the piano and sings both national and foreign songs. He has a good ear for music. As well as that he has a good command of French and German. At weekends he helps my mother about the house.

As for my Mum Lily, she doesn’t work, but devotes all her time to the family. She does everything about the house: she cooks, does the cleaning and washing, goes shopping and what not. She is really a model wife and mother. My mother is very tolerant and lenient *. She hates quarrels, that’s why she tries to patch them up as quickly as possible. She always looks attractive with her blue eyes and dimples in her rosy cheeks.

At weekends we usually go round together to my grandparents’, who live in the country. They are retired *. My grandma likes gardening. She grows different vegetables and flowers. My grandpa likes playing chess and reading books. He is a very interesting person, as he has travelled almost all over the world and knows a lot about exotic culture and traditions.

All of us get on well and always help each other. I love my family very much and I’m happy they love me too.
