Write a letter according to the following situation:

Write a reply to a complaint to your Customer for the damaged goods:

· notifying that you do not hold yourself responsible for the damage to 6 cases of goods shipped by s.s. “Argo”;

· explaining that the goods were carefully packed in the strong wooden boxes by skilled workers;

· reminding them that they had waived the inspection of the goods before packing;

· Advising them to refer their claim to the insurance company as the goods most probably were damaged in transit or during loading.

Write a letter according to the following situation:

Your company, R. Hughes & Son Ltd. placed an order with Sonic Plc for 70 digital TV-sets to be delivered on June 1, 2010, but only 50 TV-sets were delivered by the required date. You have not received any explanation from the company.

Make up a claim. Use the following information in your letter:

· stating the subject of your complaint;

· saying that you are not satisfied with them because their delay has caused you considerable inconveniences;

· reminding that you still need the full quantity ordered and shall be glad to receive the remaining 20 TV-sets as soon as possible;

· asking them to carry out orders more carefully in future;

· expressing your hope for future fruitful relationship.

Write a letter according to the following situation:

You work for Tompson and Sons a leading bicycle dealer in Nottingham where cycling is popular and which has branches in five neighbouring towns. You need models for both men and women, and also for children. From the advertisement you learned about Marlow &Co., bicycle manufacturer.

Make up an inquiry. Use the following information in your letter:

· stating how you’ve learned about the company;

· informing what exactly models you require;

· asking to send you their current catalogue and price-list for bicycles.

· telling that depending on the quality of the products and their prices you expect to place regular orders for a large number of goods;

· asking about any special discounts. In return you promise to place orders for the guaranteed annual minimum number of bicycles, the figure is to be mutually agreed;

· expressing hope for future successful cooperation.
