Our university

1. Ryazan State University was founded in 1930.

2. It was named after the great Russian poet S. Yesenin.

3. There are 10 faculties at our university which train students at day, evening, and extramural departments at the following faculties: the faculty of Sociology and Management, Economics, Law, Physics and Mathematics, Geography and Biology, the Russian Language and National Culture, Foreign Languages, Pedagogics and Psychology, Physical Training, History and International relations.

4. The main building of the university is housed in Svoboda Street.

5. There are lecture halls, study rooms, modern labs.

6. There is a library and two reading halls.

7. There are two beautiful conference halls, a gym, two buffets, a canteen, a bookshop.

8. There is also a chapel.

9. There are two hostels for students from other cities.

10. The university has grown over the recent years and now different faculties of the university are situated in different parts of the city.

11. The university course lasts for 5 years. An academic year is divided into two terms.

12. The curriculum consists of special and social subjects, physical training and all the students study foreign languages.

13. Students attend lectures and seminars, take exams at the end of the term, and participate in scientific research.

14. After graduating the students get diplomas which give them the right to work in the sphere of a chosen profession.
