Use: two part conjunctions like either or to combine ideas

Use the following prompts:

1. What modern conveniences can you name? What role do they play in your life?

2. What are their pros compared to the same situations but without modern technologies (a book/vs text on i-pad)?

3. What negative aspects can you name?

 

Topic 3. Talk about different social pressure that you and others face.

Use: particle clauses to link events and add information about time and reason and add emphasis with so that, such that, even, and only.

Use the following prompts:

1. What are the challenges of starting college? What are the challenges of other new experiences?

2. How do children put pressure on their parents?

3. What pressure do parents put on their kids?

 

Topic 4. Talk about the most significant inventions and human achievements

Use: adverbs with continuous and perfect forms of the passive and past modals with the passive.

Use the following prompts:

1. What is the most significant discovery in human history? How did it impact the development of the mankind?

2. What discovery do you think should better not be made?

3. What can you say about the perspectives of mankind?

 

Topic 5. Compare online and instore shopping.

Use: Relative clauses that begin with pronouns or prepositions and use some, any, other, others and another to refer to people and things.

Use the following prompts:

 

1. What are advantages and disadvantages of online shopping? Of instore shopping?

2. Which one do you prefer? Why?

3. What are perspectives of retailing?

Topic 6. Consider the impact that humans have on nature.

Use: future perfect forms to talk about the past in the future and prepositions and prepositional phrases to combine ideas.

2. What harm did humans do to the environment?
