Oleg’s studies

The admission requirements to the faculty are rather high. An applicant must complete the eleven year school, have a high sports ranking and successfully pass entrance examinations and sports proficiency tests. Oleg passed all the entrance exams successfully and was admitted to the University. Now he is a first-year student. In 4 years when he graduates from the University he will be able to work as a Physical Training teacher.

The academic year begins on the 1st of September and ends in June. It lasts 10 months. The academic year is divided into 2 terms: autumn and spring. Each term lasts 4 months and ends with examinations which take place in January and June.

Students should attend all the lectures, tutorials and seminars. Each year students must present a course paper to our scientific adviser (guide) and make reports in class on their themes. Students must take credit tests and examinations at the end of each term. Oleg always passes credit tests and examinations successfully and gets a scholarship. Students have holidays twice a year; in winter and in summer. All the students have a record-book and a student’s pass.

Oleg studies at the Day-Time department of Physical Training and Sports; (Department of Recreational and Adaptive Physical Training; - Department of General and Clinical Medicine)., at Healthy Way of Life Organisation Faculty.

The faculty is rather large. Its 500 students study such subjects as philosophy, history of Belarus, foreign languages, world and national culture, etc; science courses in physiology, sports medicine, anatomy, biochemistry; professional courses in sports psychology, pedagogics, methods of physical training, biomechanics, etc. Usually students have 3 or 4 periods a day. They go to the University every day except Sunday. The course of studies is 4 years.

The Sports complex allows students to develop their skills in basketball, handball, volleyball, football, track-and-field athletics, sport aerobics, orientation sports, table tennis and other sports. The Centre also organises various university basketball, football, volleyball and handball tournaments.
