When you are reading, you should look out for words, phrases and structures that you can use in your own English later. It's a good idea to carry a small notebookwith you so that you can write down any examples that you think might be useful. The first time you read a text, it's usually best not to stop and use your dictionary or notebook. If you read the text quickly and don't worry about the bits you are not sure about, you will get an understanding of the general meaning of the text, and you'll probably be surprised at how much you understand.
