Introduction

For centuries, a fairytales were a type of short story that always includes folkloric fantasy characters such as fairies, goblins, elves, gnomes and ect. It was story which could make you believe in miracle, which could show you differences between good and evil. Sometimes, these stories were intended to tell about customs of people, they always transfer from generation to generation.

Nowadays, the traditional view of fairytale becomes different. Children are not interested in instructive stories with «happy end». They are depending on horror - fairytales, which are full of cruelty, violence and atrocity. Talking about me, before I began writing this project I do not think that this type of story become a cause of mental illness disorder in children.

It was really very interesting for me to learn a large number of statistics and to come across with a huge number of amazing articles. Because of this, I understood that the problem witch I have chosen is extremely actual in our days.

The main idea of my project is to show people the matter of influence of horror on fairytales. I will find out the problem of fairytales evolution; to find out advantages and disadvantages of it and analyze it.

According to adults, modern fairytales affect on kids psychology, make them cruel to family, to friends. Why that’s happen? What the horror is looking like? At my research I am going to consider all this aspect and examine results.

The main part

At our developing world, traditional fairy tales are not interesting for little children at all. Because of these, modern tales look, in our time, very different compared with older ones. It was made specially to satisfy the needs of modern girls and boys. Everyone knows about such genre of films as «thriller», these films often have a lot of the special effects, famous actors, bright posters. On the face of it, we could think that these films are very exciting for people of all age, but, according to psychologists, teenagers become aggressive and violet after watching it. In our days old fairy tales are presented in films like thrillers and always include horror.

Let’s find out what the traditional fairy tale is looking like? Some folklorists prefer to use the German term "wonder tale" a practice given weight by the definition of Thompson. He said that the fairy tale is tale of some length involving a succession of motifs or episodes. It moves in an unreal world without definite locality or definite creatures and is filled with the marvelous. In this never-never land, humble heroes kill adversaries, succeed to kingdoms and marry princesses. The characters and motifs of fairy tales are simple and archetypal: princesses and goose-girls; youngest sons and gallant princes; ogres, giants, dragons, and trolls; wicked stepmothers and false heroes; fairy godmothers and other magical helpers, often talking horses, or foxes, or birds; glass mountains; and prohibitions and breaking of prohibitions. A lot of fairy tales begin with the phrase: «At Far-Far-Away kingdom…» and that happen for a good reason. Events, being described in tales, specially assigned far in time and space, not to touch the reality in which the child lives, not to be a cause of fear and danger. Children gradually learn the main rules of their future life: that little boys and girls should not go anywhere without permission of their parents; that the power of friends and family in unity; that even the most accident-prone son in the family will find success and happiness- and a host of other important things that are remembered. These rules of survival in a fantasy world will, definitely, help to survive the reality which is far from fabulous.

Fairy tales are found in oral and in literary form. The history of the fairy tale is particularly difficult to trace because only the literary forms can survive. Oral fairy tales passed down from generation to generation and these ones do not have a practical author. All fairy tales are divided into:

· tales about animals:

showing the animals, tale gives them human`s character, but, at the same time, describes their nature habits.

· magical tales:

at the heart of these stories lie Wonderful world. These «Never-Never Land» is a fantastic and unlimited world.

· legendary tales:

based on the legends

· novelistic tales:

tied with reality: here is one real world, habits of life are passed very realistic, the main character is the common man of people’s environment.

· anecdote:

these story is a detailed narrative of the anecdote

Nowadays, all these stories are supplemented by horror and do not teach what is good.

So, what is the idea of horror movies (based at old fairy stories)? The main objective of horror, like any genre of movies - to entertain the viewer. Means of horror is a fear. The main conflict of horror is the crash of rational, moral and irrational. It can occur both within a single individual or, as well as a struggle between the characters, embodying these principles. Stressful sense of reality is important for horror. Key role of horror films has atmosphere, which must be daunt. Of cause this type of movie is banned for little children, but today a lot of fairy tales stories become aggressive. Children are depending on cruel and they do not want to watch family movies. This kind of movie, however, has advantages and disadvantages and I will try to examine them all.

Talking about films with elements of horror, one major advantage of it is that these movies are also more entertaining than other ones. From teenager`s point of view, such modern films such as «Snow White and the Huntsman», «Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters», «Red Riding Hood» are more attractive than long-established stories. Children are impressed by these films because they have a lot of special effects, marvelous sceneries and, maybe, these movies give them adrenaline rush. As I said early, the main impression of these films is atmosphere. It is very important to create it correctly: viewers must be involved into watching process; they must be interested in actors, music and nature. If all these aspects are compared together, then you will have modern belief of fairy tale.

What about script, it also more interesting at horror stories then at their older ones. It include evil, good, a lot of mystic animals and ex. The characters of these movies cannot be met at real life. They live at another, “alternative», surreal world. These world have another rules, it is unknown, mystery and, because of these, dangerous. These characters “trickle nerves”, excite, involve, cause a complex mixture of sensations, but also remind us that there is always somewhere near Death. They always help to understand the price of life and teach children love every moment of their lives. These is a feature of horror tales, they differ from other movies.

There is a huge disadvantage: horror influence on fairytales and make a bad affection on children’s psychology. The horror film style has changed over time, but now, leading to a new variety of teenagers, horror movies, and fairy tales. Psychologies have noticed that those children who like horror films are also more aggressive than their peers. Aggression is a personal property consisting of the willingness to use violent methods to achieve the goals. But aggression horror fans, oddly primary. That means, it will be difficult to ruffle them. One more interesting fact, every year the number of fans of horror films is growing. At the recent year, the percent of those, who like such movies, increase is 65%. This trend has become more humane; because of these people need more adrenaline.
