Обозначает:
1. Физическую способность человека, его умение.
He can read English looks in the original.
2. Просьбу разрешить что – либо сделать.
Can I use you phone? – No, you can’t.
“Could” используется в прошедшем времени или для выражения более вежливой формы.
Could you help me?
После глагола “can” инфинитив используется без частицы “to”.
