Note;l The minimum length of rail inserting into two turnouts shall be adjusted by the requirements on turnout structure other than in line with the general rules set forth in Table 13. 5. 7-1 and Table 13. 5. 7-2.

When trains are passing two sidings at same time through two facing simple turnouts on main track, the length of rail inserting into 1 : 18 simple turnout shall be no less than 25 m.

When passenger trains are passing two sidings at the same time on arrival and departure track, the minimum length of rail inserting turnouts shall generally be 12. 5 m.

The inserted rail shall be of compromise rail when the rails in two adjacent two turnouts are different.

On other station track and secondary station tracks, when a wooden turnout sleeper is connected with another wooden turnout sleeper,if one group of turnouts is connected in railing direction to two groups of 1 : 9 simple or 1 ; 6 symmetrical turnouts, it shall insert a rail no less than 4.5 m between two groups of turnouts before and behind at least one shunt among them. If two groups of 1 : 9 simple concrete turnout sleeper turnouts connected in forward direction on a station track.it may insert a rail for 6.25 m long between the two turnouts.

When tracks in a passenger car servicing depot use 1 : 6 symmetrical turnout in a continuous manner, the rails inserted shall be no less than 12. 5 m long.

When two turnouts are connected,it shall adopt the same type of turnout sleeper on main track, and should adopt the same types of turnout sleeper on station track. When different types of turnout sleepers are used on station track and two turnout sleepers are connected in forward direction, the length of rail inserted shall be no less than 12. 5 m;when two turnouts are connected in facing direction, the length of rail inserted shall be no less than 6. 25 m.

Train means marshaled train connected to a locomotive attached with specified locomotive sign. It does not include rolling stocks that do not possess complete trains conditions but be handled as trains.
