There are many holidays in our country. They are: New Year’s Day, Christmas, Women’s Day, Victory Day and many others. I like New Year’s Day best of all. It is my favourite holiday. The first of January is a winter holiday and the first day of the New Year. It is in the middle of winter.

The weather is often fine and there is a lot of snow everywhere. People have interesting parties at work and at home. They buy New Year’s trees and decorate them with toys, sweets and beautiful stars. They cook holiday dinner, dress well, make presents and hope the next year will be happy.
