Russia is a big, rich and interesting country. It is heart is the capital Moscow. The heart of Moscow is the Kremlin. One of the most remarkable structures of the 16th century – Ivan the Great Bell Tower rises in the centre of the Kremlin. On the stone pedestal at the foot of the Bell Tower there is a Tsar-Bell – the largest in the world. Not far from it one can see a Tsar-Cannon. There are 20 towers in the Kremlin. On the five tops one can see shining ruby stars. The clock that strikes every quarter of an hour is on the Spassky Tower. The square near the Kremlin is Red Square, the central and the most beautiful one in Moscow. There is Lenin Mausoleum near the Kremlin wall in Red Square which is considered to be some kind of the museum. Kaluga was founded in 1371. Kaluga is one of the oldest Russian cities. It stands on the banks of the Oka River. In different parts of the city we can see old churches and cathedrals. The oldest of them are church of the 17th century “of Cover on the Ditch” and the Cathedral of St. George “past the hill”. The Stone Bridge across the Berezuyevsky Ravine was built in 1780 in honour of Katherine II’s visit to Kaluga. There are only a few bridges of such design in Europe. Now Kaluga is an important industrial centre. Kaluga is also a cultural centre. Citizens like visiting our Drama theatre which is more than 230 years old. Day after day Kaluga is growing. Now let’s speak about St. Petersburg. This city is very beautiful. You can visit Petergov Hermitage St.Isaks cathedral or you can just walk along a bank of the Neva there.

Future professional.

Choose of professional is probably the most important thing in your life. When you choose your profession you have to think about your abilities and skills. If you like your job you will go to work with pleasure. Example I have already chosen my future profession. I want to become a teacher of the chemistry and biology. My choice of this occupation didn't come as a sudden flash. During all school years chemistry was my favorite subject. Most jobs can be done within the usual office hours from 9 a.m. till 5 p.m., but teacher's work is never done and evenings are usually spent in marking exercise-books and preparing for the next lesson. Teachers do not only teach their subjects. They develop their pupils' intellect, form their views and characters. I entered the Faculty of Biology and I am sure that my dream will come true sooner or later.

Education.

Education in Great Britain is compulsory and free for all children between the ages of 5 and 16. Compulsory secondary education begins when children are 11 or 12 and lasts for 5 years. Children study English, Mathematics, Science, History, Art, Geography, Music, a Foreign language and have lessons of Physical training. Religious education is also provided. English, Mathematics and Science are called "core" subjects. At the age of 7,11 and 14 pupils take examinations in the core subjects. After leaving secondary school young people can apply to a university, a polytechnic or a college of further education. There are 126 universities in Britain. The best universities, in view of "The Times" and "The Guardian", are The University of Oxford, The University of Cambridge, London School of Economics, London Imperial College, London University College. Universities usually select students basing on their A-level results and an interview. After three years of study a university graduate get the Degree of a Bachelor of Arts, Science or Engineering. Many students then continue their studies for a Master's Degree and then a Doctor's Degree (PhD).
