To be or not to be – that is the question! Global sport is big money and it may become the question of life and death. There is only one vacancy in the United States Olympic Rhythmic Gymnastics Team. And this vacancy is going to be given either to Jessica Smith or Kelly Austin.

Scene 2

Сцена делится на две половины:

1. Квартира Келли

2. Спортзал, где находится Джессика

Келли (Алена) – Hey! What are you doing?

Джессика (Яна) – Hey! Just came to the training.

Келли (Алена) – Are you busy tonight?

Джессика (Яна) – No… Why?

Келли (Алена) – Great! Cause I have something to tell you. Come to my place. Right after the training.

Джессика (Яна) – Well… OK

Scene 3

(звонок в дверь)

Келли (Алена) –Hey! There you are! Come in! You’re good…

Джессика (Яна) –Hey! Glad to see you. What’s up?

Келли – You know… there’s only one vacancy in our Olympic team. And only one of us is going to get it. Well, you’re my best friend and I don’t want to lose you for sport or money. I mean let our coach choose the best of us.

Джессика – Kelly, look. I feel exactly the same about it. Don’t want to lose my best friend for anything. That’s it.

Келли – No doubt (не сомневаюсь). Tea?

Джессика – Yeah. Why not…

Отвлекающий маневр с чаем и удар кубком

Келли заваривает чай, а взгляд Джессики падает на одиноко стоящий кубок и говорит:

Джессика Oh, that’s your Cup… [Оу, зэтс йо Кап]

Келли Right. 2008 World Championship. My symbol of victory… [Райт. Ту саузенд энд эйт Уолд Чемпионшип. Май симбол ов виктории.]

Джессика Oh, right. 2008… [Оу, Райт. Ту саузенд энд эйт…]

Келли Here you are (дает чай)! Let me take it back… (забирает кубок)

Джессика Thanks.

Келли Please, help yourself with the sugar over there… (указывает на сахар и Джессика поворачивается спиной, чтобы взять сахар) [Плииз, хелп йоселф уиззэ шуга оува зэа…]

Джессика Thank you.

Пока та кладет в чай сахар, Келли прицеливается получше, чтобы нанести удар… Джессика оборачивается – Келли указывает еще на чайную ложечку (размешать чай)…

Келли Teaspoon! [тииспун!]

Джессика Tha… (thank you) Тянется за ложечкой. «Спаси…(бо тебе)» Удар! – падает замертво вместе с чаем и чайной ложечкой…(найти звук удара и падающих предметов)

Scene 4

обстановка не меняется: Квартира Келли и Спортзал

Тренер (Людмила) – Good morning, Mam. Jessica hasn’t been at the training today. Is she ok?

Отец Джессики (Максим) – The fact is she didn’t come back home after the training yesterday … Her phone is off.

Тренер (Людмила) – Oh! Really?!…

Scene 5

Звонок полиции отцу Джессики:

Полиция (Злата) - Excuse me? Are you Jessica Smith’s mother? Как зрители поймут, что это полиция?

Отец Джессики (Максим) – Yes. Something about her?!

Полиция (Злата) – I’m sorry, Mam, your daughter was found murdered yesterday. She was hit in her head. And we’ve got the witnesses.

Scene 6

все убирается для судебного заседания

Судья (Дина) - Case # 803 on the murder of Jessica Smith is being examined today. The suspect is miss Austin.

Прокурор ( Даша) – The murdered was hit in her head with a blunt object.

Судья(Дина) – Call the coach of the suspect and the murdered, please.

Прокурор ( Даша) – What can you say about the relationship between Kelly Austin and Jessica Smith?

Тренер (Людмила) – Kelly and Jessica were best friends. Since their childhood. But recently, because of the concurrence for the only team vacancy left they were competing severely.

Прокурор ( Даша) – Did any quarrels or fights take place?

Тренер (Людмила) – No, Mam. Not that I know.

Прокурор( Даша) – Thank you, Mam. I have no further questions.

Судья (Дина) – Call the witness Mrs. Fisher, please.

Прокурор ( Даша) - Mr. Fisher, tell us who you are, please.

Алекс Фишер (Максим) - I am Kelly Austin’s neighbour.

Прокурор ( Даша) Can you tell us what you saw, Mrs. Fisher?

Алекс Фишер (Максим) – Sure. I was walking my dog and at 21:25 I saw Kelly come to Jessica. When I was going back home I saw my neighbour Jessica draw a big litter bin on the ground. After a while the light in her room was off. And I got a bit surprised about Kelly’s disappearance.

Прокурор ( Даша) –Thank you, Mrs. Fisher. I have no further questions. As a result of searching Jessica’s home this blunt object was found. It is proved to be the instrument of crime. And this object belongs to Ms Smith. So Ms Smith is supposed to be the murderer…

Судья (Дина) Kelly Smith has been found NOT GUILTY due to lack of evidence.

Scene 7

Нужно покрывало держать для неожиданной смены сцен

Мысли: Why? What was it all for?

How could I…(убить) My best friend…

What for?

Just for a damn vacancy in the team

Oh, Jessica… why… just can’t get her out me head…

I miss you so much. If I could go back in time and… No. Can’t stand it any more. No. No more.

The last scene (последняя сцена)

Келли (Алена) Jess?! You!! It’s you! Jess! Safe and sound (цела и невредима)! [обнимает ее крепко] Jessica…

Джессика (Яна) Are you OK?

Келли (Алена) Yeah. Absolutely! [вытирает слезы] Come in…(проходи) Come on (Давай же)!

Келли (Алена) - Oh it's just a vase!

Джессика (Яна) - What? Isn’t it your greatest World Cup (но ведь это твой самый главный кубок мира)?

Келли (Алена) - no… well, yes – it used to be… (был когда-то) Don’t worry (не беспокойся) –my great litter bin (мой «великий» (большой) мусорный ящик) is just the right place (самое подходящее место) for the great Cup! (для великого кубка) …

Джессика (Яна) - Kelly you’re starting to really frighten me!.. Hey, what on earth is going on with you today? Well, I always knew you were a bit strange but this…

Келли (Алена) - (прерывает ее) Jess! [пауза, тишина, напряженность] I want you to know that… that… whatever happens… you’ll always be my best friend! And… and… Nothing else matters…

Джессика (Яна) - (смотрит на нее) Kelly… you, too. Always. (Келли… ты тоже. Всегда.)

Келли (Алена) - [плачут] Yeah, I will... You know I always will… Well, come on!!! [включается динамичная, оптимистичная музыка] Let’s have some tea now!
