We have already observed some information about our amazing and picturesque area of Kyiv centre, with its peculiar interesting history. Walking along the independence square you’ve noted a lot of contemporary buildings together with Stalinism design was exceptionally, accepted in Post Soviet Union Republics. But our once is not so massive as Russian building. This hotel has less elements, because its extra elements provide overweight of the building that is located on the hilly area. I want to tell you about some traditions and occasions that may held on the main square. One of the most interesting fest is called “Maslyanitsa”(carnival) This celebration dedicated to the beginning of great religious term Fasting (пост) This period is till Easter time a great religious celebrations of Joshua resurrection. While Fasting, orthodoxies have to avoid some fat food and be more polite. As for the Maslyanitsa people arrange some fest on the main squares. Backed pancakes stuffer with caviar (икра) or salmon etc. Men competed they had to reach the highest point on the wooden pillar (post- столб) all these activity were on the main squares of cities. On the next day people great each other with such words “Forgive me “ and had a reply “ “God will forgive you” At current time we celebrate this holyday in some park area. Russians celebrate this holyday also in the end of February or in the begging of March. It’s worth speaking about Great Victory day that is celebrated annually on the 9-th of May. This is dedicated to the victory of soviet force (army) in the Second World War. We had a great parade with huge numbers of military men various military cars and different set of guns. All veterans are honored in this day. After the parade we have a firework at 9 or 10 p.m. on the Independence Square.
