Anti-Piracy measures

1. hire a naval security

2. establish additional watch-keeping and lookout. (equip them with radios, binoculars)

3. proceed at high speed (more than 18 knots)

4. rig the water spray hoses (it’s better to use heated water)

5. install link fence (razor wire – колючая проволка)

6. close all the doors hatches and portholes.

7. block the entrance to the bridge and engine room

8. provide safety jackets and helmets for the bridge team

9. maneuver the vessel away from the pirate craft

10. use CCTV (cameras for coverage of vulnerable areas)

11. make a distress call (MAYDAY) on VHF (channels 08 and 16)
