People's worries and anxieties about felonies and misdemeanours seem to take place among the most disturbing issues (что-то не то с seem to take place – можно просто are). Their fears are mainly affected by information they gain from thoughts and judgements of other people or from what they have witnessed themselves, whereas (не подходит – оно же выражает контраст, а тут нет контраста) they are deeply sceptical about official data.

It's no wonder that official statistic s are generally taken with a pinch of salt as people are used to the fact that information has been -> is (these days ведь в конце предложения ) used as one of the strongest and most influential weapons these days. People have lost credibility of official public resourses -> Official public resources have lost credibility. They would rather believe in? the alarming information spread by the word of mouth that (what? word of mouth?) makes them concerned about their own safety. (что-то не то с этой припиской that makes them concerned … Я бы переделала последние два предложения, возможно, даже соединила их: Official public resources have lost credibility and people tend to believe the alarming information they get by word of mouth.)

There is no precise answer to the question whether the level of crime has dropped. The nature of crimes has changed. Several decades ago we heard a lot about theft and vandalism. The problems that are in the news today relate mostly to terrorism. At the same time the level of juvenile delinquency has climbed. There is a lot of violence among teenagers who are incapable of controlling their emotions and dealing with them in an appropriate way. If before money was a prevailing motive for the majority of unlawful acts then (что-то не то с этой структурой if before – then) today most of the crimes are driven by ill ideology and wrong perception of the world. That, in turn, might result in to hiding real situation related to crime level, as fear invites aggression.

Неплохо по языку, но меня больше интересует, как они оценивают именно ответ на задание.

Например, упоминание важных пунктов текста. На стр. 163 они выделяют в каждом тексте 2 ключевых пункта, которые должны быть упомянуты. То есть, экзаменатор будет, видимо, эти пункты искать? Надо их отдельно выделять? Нам надо побольше исследовать критерии content и communicative achievement (стр. 25).

Далее, в экзамене TOEFL есть отдельный пунктик на indicating the source of information – то есть там всегда надо показывать, откуда информация (из чтения, из лекции), словами the reading passage says, the professor contradicts, according to…. Мне кажется, в твоём ответе этого немного не хватало – то, что ты пишешь – это первый текст, второй или уже твоё мнение? Я думаю, особенно важно обозначить, что ты начала писать своё мнение. Хотя, это только моё мнение, не знаю, что экзаменаторы будут искать в ответе на это задание.
