Teenagers shouldn’t drive

Every teenager wants to become an adult and driving license is a good way to become a grown person. Many of today’s teens can’t wait to get that piece of paper, saying they are licensed drivers. There are so many cases when teenage driving destroyed the lives of innocent people and their loved ones. Teenage driving is one of the most serious problems nowadays, because teens disregard danger of driving and the number of crashes increases year by year. Although driving a car as soon as possible may have many benefits, but disadvantages force teens not to get behind the wheel at that early age.

В жизни каждого молодого человека наступает момент, когда хочет стать взрослым, и вождение это первый шаг на пути к этой цели. Тинейджеры очень жаждят получить водительскую лицензию, но когда время приходит, и они наконец гет ит, это приводит к разрушительным последствиям. Очень много случаев аварий из-за вождения тинейджеров во всем мире.

 

 

Irresponsible Behavior

Even though your teen may be very responsible, in general 16- to 19-year-olds have some pretty dismal statistics when it comes to driving. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that drivers in this age group, particularly males, are likely to underestimate hazardous conditions, drive too fast and get distracted by their passengers. In addition, they are the least likely to wear a seat belt, and are more likely to crash if they drive after consuming alcohol.

Ссылаясь на ДСП молодешь, в основном парни, не могут полностью оценить опасность вождения, поэтому часто превышаю скорость и отвлекаются на разговоры по телефону или же с пасажиром. Также, они пренебригают ремнем бещопасности и часто склонны садиться за руль в нетрезвом состоянии.

The consequences for irresponsible behavior behind the wheel can be devastating. In 2010, crashes caused by teen drivers injured 282,000 youngsters and killed another 2,700, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In fact, adolescents in the drivers seat are three times as likely to be involved in a fatal collision than older drivers. Those at greatest risk for a crash include males, teenagers who have just gotten their license and those who transport other teenage passengers.

Development of the Teen Brain

Teen drivers are not only vulnerable because they need more experience behind the wheel, but also because of the unique makeup of the adolescent brain. During adolescence, the brain is at its peak in terms of acquiring and retaining new information. However, the areas needed for impulse control and mediating emotional responses are the last to develop and may not reach full maturity until the early 20s, according to a study by the National Institutes of Health.

Road carnage statistics gathered in 2010 indicates that 2700 teens between 16 and 19 years died in road accidents where drivers were teenagers. Besides the deaths, about 282000 of teenagers suffered serious injuries from car crashes that necessitated their admission in emergency departments.

In addition, teenage driving should be banned because of the traffics.

 

The youth is one of the interesting periods of life, where people can get crazy and be free no matter what. There are many competitions between them and every teen wants to be higher than another one in a material way. Driving a car is very prestigious in the youth, but, unfortunately, it kills them as well.

Firstly, many teenagers, usually the age of 16 and higher, starts driving a car without any driving license, which provides a risk of life. According to “The Pediatrics journal” in “the Teenage driver” article, automobile crashes are the first cause of death, which includes more than 5000 lives in teens from the age of 16 to 20. This information shows that teens are just too young to understand the responsibility of driving a car.

Secondly, teenagers do not understand not just financial responsibility, but the responsibility of killing someone. Many cases registered where teenagers had one or two passengers in motor vehicle-related crashes.

Thirdly, bad habits create bad accidents. All of us have a bad habit, but those habits can be noticed while driving. According to Zadora PL and William AF “The effect of city ordinances on teenage motor vehicle fatalities”, the teenage risk of death was reduces by 23% in cities with night curfews. This means that nighttime driving is the favor time of driving among teenagers. One of the most useable bad habits not only by teenagers, but by adult as well is talking on a cell phone while driving. Cell phone distraction causes 2,600 deaths and 330,000 injuries in the United States every year, according to the journal's publisher, the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. All this information clearly shows us that driving a car creates a big risk for human life, especially among the youth.

Lastly, driving has many benefits and one of the most important benefits is time. Everybody knows that “time is money” and we should know how to manage it in a right way. Nobody likes to be late, everyone wants to be on time and catch everything in time. Driving a car gives us this opportunity. Having a car means no need to call a taxi or wait for a bus, when person is in a hurry.

Driving is one of the most serious problems nowadays and there are many ways to prevent car accidents. Teenagers should take seriously driving a car; otherwise, the number of the death among youth will continue to increase.
