5th World Traditional Wushu Championships

Regulations

1. Date and Place

The 6th World Traditional Wushu Championships will be held from October 23 to 29, 2014 in Chizhou City, Anhui Province, China.

5. Participants

5.1 Member federations of the International Wushu Federation

5.2 Those wushu organizations which have been recognized by the member federations of IWUF.

5.3 Those wushu organizations located in the countries or regions not affiliated to the IWUF.

6. Competition Events

6.1 Individual Events

6.1.1 Traditional Events

●Taijiquan Style: Chen, Yang, Wú, Wu, Sun and other traditional Taijiquan. The compulsory routines of 42 Forms Taijiquan, Chen, Yang, Wú, Wu and Sun Style Taijiquan are traditional routines.

●Nanquan Style: Yongchunquan, Wuzuquan, Cailifo, Huheshuangxing, Dishuquan and other Southern styles.

●Other Barehanded Routines: Xingyiquan, Baguazhang, Bajiquan, Tongbeiquan, Piguaquan, Fanziquan, Ditangquan, Xiangxingquan, Chaquan, Huaquan, Paoquan, Hongquan, Huaquan, Shaolinquan, Wudangquan, Emeiquan and the traditional routines of other traditional barehanded routines.

6.1.2 Traditional Apparatus

●Single Weapon: Broadsword, Sword, Staff, Spear, Pudao, Fan, Dagger, Whip, Walking Stick (Zhang), Club(Bang), Cane (Guai), Shovel(Chan), Fork, Taijijian (including 42 Forms Taijijian), Taijidao, Taijiqiang, Nandao, Nangun and other apparatus.

●Double Weapons: Double Broadswords, Double Swords (including Double long-tassel swords), Double Whips (including the broadsword-whip), Double Hooks, Double Daggers, Double Axes and other double weapons.

●Soft Weapon: Nine-section whip, Two-section staff, Chain-ball (Liuxingchui), Rope Dart and other soft weapons.

c) Dual Event: Bare-handed vs. Bare-handed, Bare-handed vs. Weapons, Weapons vs. Weapons.

d) Group Event: Group presentation by single event, either bare-handed or with weapon.

7. Participation Methods

7.1 Each team may enter 1 team leader, 1 team manager, 1 coach and 1 team doctor; the number of athletes is not limited.

7.2 Each participating athlete may enter at most 1 bare-handed routine and 1 apparatus routine. He/she may enter for dual events and group events.

7.3 Each participating team may enter one (1) dual event which shall be presented by at most three competitors. Male and female competitors can be mixed.

7.4 Each participating team may enter one (1) group event. There is no limitation for the age groups. Male and female athletes can be mixed. There will be no competition if the number of participants is less than 6 in one group.

8. Competition Methods

8.1 Competition is individual and group competition.

8.2 The competition shall adopt the “Traditional Wushu Competition Rules of Taolu” (2012) endorsed by the Chinese Wushu Association.

8.3 Time limit:

8.3.1 Bare-handed and apparatus routines shall be less than 2 minutes (except Taijiquan category).

8.3.2 Taijiquan shall be 4-5 minutes. The head judge will blow a whistle when the athlete performs to 4 minutes.

8.3.3 Taiji apparatus routine shall be less than 3 minutes. The head judge will blow a whistle when the athlete performs to 2 minutes.

8.3.4 Dual event shall last at least 40 seconds.

8.3.5 In the competition of the compulsory Taijiquan and Taijijian routines, no deduction will be made if movements are not sufficient.

8.3.6 Group event shall be less than 4 minutes. Music should be accompanied to the routine. (CD or tapes shall be brought by the participating teams.) No lyrics are allowed, otherwise, 0.1 point will be deducted by the head judge. 0.1 point will be deducted if a group performs without music. The team manager or coach shall be responsible for playing the music.

8.4 The individual events are divided by age groups:



Group A: below age 12 (Born after January 1, 2003)

Group B: age 12 -17 (Born between January 1, 1997 and December 31, 2002)

Group C: age 18 - 39 (Born between January 1, 1975 and December 31, 1996)

Group D: age 40 – 59 (Born between January 1, 1955 and December 31, 1974)

Group E: age 60 and above (Born before January 1, 1955)

9. Placing and Awards

9.1 The first prize will be awarded in the individual event for both men and women according to age groups (10% of the total competitors shall be awarded for the first

prize for A, B, C and D groups, 20% for Group E), 20% of the total competitors shall be awarded for the second prize and 30% for the third prizes.

The other competitors will be conferred certificate of participation. The proportion of awarding will be implemented according to the practical number of competitors.

9.2 In Dual event competition, 2-person and 3-person teams will be ranked separately on the basis of the above mentioned criteria.

9.3 Those events with 5 (or less) competitors will be grouped together under barehanded routines or apparatus for men and women.

9. Entry and Registration

9.1 Entry:

9.1.1 The Final Entry Forms shall be printed in three copies (in A4 format) and officially stamped. The entry form must reach the IWUF Secretariat and the Organizing Committee no later than September 23, 2014. E-mail: iwuf@iwuf.org and dljsjctwsjbs@hotmail.com.

9.1.2 The participating teams are required to send passport photos, passport copies and waiver of liabilities directly to the organizing committee via mail.

9.1.3 The letter of acknowledgment by IWUF national federations in their countries or regions shall be enclosed.

9.2 Registration:

9.2.1 All teams are required to register on October 23 and 24. Please register at the Jiarun Gloria Grand Hotel Jiuhuashan, Kecun, Scenic Area of Mount Jiuhua, Chizhou City, China. Tel: +86 566 2838855, Fax: +86 566 2838533, Email:

9.2.2 All the travel information, including the arrival date, flight or train number, number of participants, shall reach the organizing committee by email or fax no later than October 15 to facilitate reception arrangements.

9.2.3 Port and Itinerary:

By train – direct trains from major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Nanchang, etc.; a reception desk will be set at the Chizhou railway station.

By plane – direct flights to Jiuhuashan from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen and Chengdu; a reception desk will be set at the airport of Jiuhuashan.
