int. the house living room - morning

A room of a small size is on the second floor. There is a desk with books, copy-books and a lamp near a window. The view out of the window is blocked by the tree.

There is a book-shelf by the left wall. And by the right wall there is a double bed and a bed-side table. The glasses and an alarm clock are on the bed-side table.

ANNA is sleeping in the bed. Anna is a 13-years-old girl with short curly hair and not very attractive. It is six in the morning and the alarm clock is ringing.

With her eyes closed, Anna turns the alarm off and puts on her glasses. She stands up, goes toward the door, puts her hand on the door handle and sighs.

She opens the door. A small corridor leads to the stairs. Anna goes downstairs.

int. the house the first floor near the bathroom - morning

Suddenly, her older BROTHER appears out of the corner. He is a tall, well-built, 16-years-old young man. He is wearing sport clothes. He blocks Anna’s way.

(grinning)

Good morning, sister.

The brother takes Anna’s glasses and makes faces. Anna stands still. Her brother throws her glasses on the floor.

brother

Oops!

The brother laughs and goes away. After his leaving, Anna picks up her glasses and runs into the bathroom.

int. the house the bathroom morning

Anna is by a sink. There is a mirror above the sink. She glances at the mirror, turns on the water tap and sobs quietly.

INT. THE SCHOOL THE CLASSROOM DAY

The school-bell is ringing. There is a fuss in the classroom. The children are stacking things in their school-bags and talking.

Two classmates are passing Anna by.

THE FIRST classmate is red-haired, plump boy with a cap moved to one side. THE SECOND one is a slim, dark-haired boy wearing baggy clothes.

Freak.

The second classmate sweeps away all Anna’s things from her desk. Both boys are laughing while leaving the classroom. Anna is putting her things in the bag calmly.

EXT. THE STREET THE SHOP WINDOWS - DAY

Anna is going home from school with a big rucksack on her back. While passing by the row of shop-windows, she notices the advertisement of hologram.

Anna stops and looks. On the screen there is a happy old WOMAN sitting on the chair.

Hologram “FR-2000” has changed my life to the best. You should press only one button and here it is – your personal life companion!

An unshaven, 40-years-old man in checked shirt appears on the screen.

You can create anyone you want. There are no things easier – just put in the settings gender, age and appearance!

A picture of console for hologram appears on the screen. It is a small button in the middle of gilded sun. Then the price comes. It is $99.9. It twinkles red.

Anna moves away from the screen and smiles. She goes home with quick step.

INt. the house anna’s room - day

Anna goes to the bookstand and reaches the 3^rd shelf. There she takes book and finds some money. Anna cashes up and understands that she needs some cents.

The girl opens the bedside cabinet and gets a bank with coins. There is a sign on it “For the telescope”. Anna does some hard thinking and takes money.

INT. THE STORE WITH HOLOGRAMS - DAY

Anna enters the store. It is a room with bright-blue walls. Near the walls there are some holograms. They look like real people.

Anna goes inward. Near the cash register there are two beautiful young girls. They are identical TWINS.

(with one voice)

Welcome to our shop “FR-2000”! How can we help you?

anna

I…I need one hologram.

Twins takes a box from under the table. Their movements are identical.

twins

(smiling from ear to ear)

You owe $99.9!

Anna pays to twins and takes the box.

int. the house anna’s room - day

Anna gets a console out of the box and presses the button. Blank form emerges in the air: “Name”, “Gender”, “Age”, “Appearance”.

Anna writes: “Name – Alan”, “Age – 14”, “Gender – male”, “Appearance – classic with dark hair”.

Anna touches a button «Done» and after a few seconds ALAN appears in front of her. Anna shudders and step back.

alan

Hi! My name is Alan. We can be best friends. I’ll try to help you with your problems; I can watch films, walk and play with you.

Anna comes closer to Alan and tries to touch him. Anna’s hand goes through Alan’s body.

alan

So, what is your name?

anna

You can call me Ann.

At that moment there is a sound of footsteps outside the door, Anna presses a button in time and Alan is gone. The door is opened, Anna’s brother come in.

brother

What the hell are you doing here? Who are you talking with?

anna

I just…

brother

Slow down! Slow down, okay? I’ve friends there and I don’t want them to think that I have a crazy sister.

(closing the door)

Wacky.

The door is slammed and Anna turns on the hologram. Alan appears again. Alan frowns and he is worried.

alan

What’s going on? Was anybody there? You shouldn’t feel uncomfortable. We are friends.

anna

It was Max. My brother.

alan

Can I meet with him?

anna

(laughing)

No way! He'd rather not know about you. You will be another reason for the bullying.

alan

Then I'll just look.

anna

What do you mean?

Alan moves his hand in front of Anna’s face. And at that moment he sees Anna’s memories of her childhood.

ext. a yars near the house - day, the first recollection

Anna’s brother is near a stroller with little Anna. He stands on tiptoe and peeps into it.

THE END OF THE FIRST RECOLLECTION

ext. the tree empty area - DAY, the second recollection

Anna is sitting on a swing which is tidied up to the tree. Anna’s brother is swinging her. She is 2-years-old.

THE END OF THE SECOND RECOLLECTION

INT. HYPERMARKET - DAY, THE THIRD RECOLLECTION

Brother is buying sweets. He pays for them and then gives them to Anna. He takes her hand and they leave the store. Brother is 7, Anna is 4.

INT. THE HOUSE ANNA’S ROOM - DAY

Alan and Anna are looking at each other. Alan is smiling.

You had a wonderful childhood.

int. the house anna’s room - night

Alan and Anna are sitting on the floor in front of the window. Moonlight is illuminating their faces.

anna

I’ll show you something.

Anna takes the binocular from under the bed and comes to the window. She looks at the sky. She makes a sign to Alan to come to her. Anna gives binocular to Alan. He takes a look.

anna

What do you see?

alan

Small dots of light.

Anna

No. Stars.

alan

Do you like it?

anna

Sure. Look, alpha Eridani - Achernar. It’s one of the brightest stars, see? It shines to us for a long time and remembers the entire history of the Earth is still long before us.

Eridani is extremely hot, but meanwhile has a calm blue color. That’s wonderful, isn’t it?

alan

Did you tell about this star to your brother?

anna

Alan, please, stop! Don’t be so draggy! He won’t understand. Anyway, you can’t help me! You’re just a hologram, okay?

(calmly)

I’m sorry, but it’s true.

Anna looks to Alan then removes her eyes. Alan puts binocular away and goes to bed.

It’s late. It’s time to sleep. I have a lot of fairytales, written down in my memory. Do you want me to read you?

Anna nods.

int. the house anna’s room - night

Anna is lying on the bed. She has just fallen asleep. Alan, who was sitting on the bed, stands up and goes to the door.

int. the house brother’s room - night

The room is a mess. There is a guitar on the wall. The curtains are closed. There are empty bottles from energetic drinks everywhere.

The brother is sleeping on a bed without blanket. Alan comes to the sleeping brother and moves his hand in front of brother’s face.

Alan wants brother to see the same reminiscences as Anna. Brother frowns and shrinks. Alan leaves, closing the door silently.

EXT. A YARD OF THE SCHOOL - DAY

It’s a sunny day. Anna goes out of the school, smiling happily. She touches her console dangling on her neck. Suddenly, two classmates appear.

The first classmate spits in front of Anna. She stops and moves back. The second one rips away the console from her neck.

Give it to me!

Hey, look who's talking!

Take!

The second throws the console on the road, which is two steps away from them. A car comes across the console. The boys go away.

Anna looks at that which was left from the console. She turns and goes home.

EXT. A YARD OF SCHOOL - EVENING

The brother is walking by the school. He’s got a rucksack on one shoulder. There are keys in his hand. He whirls them.

He looks round and notices broken console. Looking round again, he runs to it.

Damn it!

int. the house anna’s room - evening

Anna is sitting on the floor in front of the window and looking at the sky. She notices binocular, which is in the place, where Alan put it.

There is a sound of fallen detail. Anna turns round and notices the door closed. She sees the console on the floor.

She is astonished. Anna presses the button doubtingly. Alan appears with scratches on his face, mop headed and in holed clothes.

alan

Hi, Ann. I…

anna

(whispering)

Thank you.

Alan and Anna are smiling. Anna runs out of the room.

INT. THE HOUSE BROTHER’S ROOM

The brother is sitting on the bed and throwing a tennis ball. Anna enters the room. Brother catches the ball and looks at her.

Anna rushes to hug her brother. The first few seconds he is sitting still and then embraces Anna.
