Graphical calculation work is devoted to the determination of the necessary quantity of refuellers, needed to provide regular refuelling of the aircrafts and making the schedule of operations.



Graphical calculation work is devoted to the determination of the necessary quantity of refuellers, needed to provide regular refuelling of the aircrafts and making the schedule of operations.

Airport fuel service determines fuel requirement using statistical or direct calculating method. The statistical method consists in approximate determination of fuel quantity taking into account previous experience of the airport operation. The direct calculating method allows of estimating the actual fuel requirement of the airport. For this purpose we should multiply the rate of fuel consumption per 1 hour of flight by duration of flight and take into account operation of the aircraft engines on the ground.

So, we have the amount of fuel for airport for the most busy day. Now we can determine the amount of refuellers needed for fuelling of our aircrafts. Aircraft must be fuelled 2 hours prior to the depature. So, we can make the graph needed for determination of necessary number and types of refuellers.

The refuellers are special trucks and lorry convoys which are intended for transportation of fuel, its temporary storage and refuelling the aircrafts.

Refuellers consist of the base chassis and the special equipment mounted on it. As the base chassis is used trucks, semitrailers and tractors. Special equipment of refueller with capacity of the tank up to 10000 l, as a rule, is mounted on truck, and special equipment of refueller with capacity of tanks more than 10000 l is mounted on semitrailers and tractors.

According to tank capacity the refuellers may be classified as:

- refuellers of small capacity (ТЗ-3,8);

- refuellers of average capacity (ТЗ-7,5);

- refuellers of large capacity (ТЗ-22);

 

The combined lorry convoys are applied at some airports (ТЗ-60). They consist of the tractor, the semitrailer-tank and the trailer of the tank. Total capacity of such refueller achieves 100000 l.

The special equipment of refueller contains:

- the tank;

- the pump with a drive;

- fuel filters;

- the pipeline with shut-off-and-regulating accessories;

- Control and measuring devices.

In addition the fire-fighting equipment, the equipment for removal of a statistical electricity, means of a radio communication is mounted on refueller.

The refuellers of different types are constructed under one basic circuit, only have a number of constructive differences. The typical technological circuit of refueller is shown on Fig.

Special equipment of refueller should provide performance of the following operations:

- Filling tank of refueller by fuel;

- To refuel tanks of aircraft with fuel from tank of refueller;

- To mix fuel in tank of refueller;

- To pump over fuel from one extraneous capacity in another, without fuel discharging in tank of refueller;

- suction of fuel from distributing hoses after the ending of refuelling;

- To separate mechanical impurity from fuel during delivery;

- To keep account fuel which is given out.

These operations are carried out by opening or closing corresponding flaps that are mounted on pipelines. With the help of such flaps the pump, filters and other units of the special equipment are connected between each other and with the tank, forming the technological circuit of refueller.

 

ТЗ-60 is designed for refueling aircraft by ffuel. Can perform the following operations: fill the own tank with fuel from the exturnal tank; refuel vehicles with filtered fuel from own tank or reservoir; pumping fuel from one tank to another, bypassing your tank; suction fuel from distributing hoses after the ending of refuelling; mixing of fuel in tank of refueller.

 

 

Tanker consists of a steel tank with cross-section of 60 m3. In aggregate compartment it is mounted: TSN-240/140 centrifugal pump (main), vortex pump SVN-80, filter -separator, liquid counters CFL-150-64, pipes and fittings. Pump is driven by independent engine. Tanker is equipped with two suction and two dispensing hoses.

The circuit of operation of refuellers at the airport

The circuit of operation of refueller can be presented as the schedule.

The list of operations:

1. The overhaul of refueller and its admission to operation - is carried out in the beginning of each shift, thus «Journal of checking technical condition of means of refuelling» is made out. This operation is carried out on platform of the airport (up to 30 minutes)

2. Filling tank of refueller by fuel at FLM storehouse. Duration of this operation depends on a tankage of refueller.

3. The sedimentation of refueller, sediment discharge and filling of the control ticket (15 minutes + 5 minutes). It is carried out twice at FLM storehouse after filling, and also on platform. Probably and three times - if after filling has passed more than 6 hours, and refueller continues refuelling planes by the same fuel which has received earlier.

4. Directly refuelling the plane. Duration of this operation depends on volume of refuelling and pump efficiency of the refueller.

5. Moving from FLM storehouse on platform and back (a minimum for 10 minutes)

6. Moving from a line (a parking areas on platform) to parking area of planes. Duration is minimal, therefore this operation is neglected.

7. Expectation of the following refuelling the plane is going on platform (on a line), depends on the schedule of refuellings of planes by everyone refueller.

Conclsion: During the preparation of the homework we have determined the necessary number and type of refuellers. According to my airport timetable I need 2 refuellers of ТЗ-60 type and 1 ofТЗ-10 type. We have made a schedule of operations. Learned the skills of preparation of timetable for refueling.
