Age: 9-10
Main Aim:
At the end of the lesson students will be able
· to ask/tell the time
· to talk about the time in the context of daily routine
Subsidiary aims:
· to revise the verbs of daily routine
· to practice listening, reading and speaking skills
Personal aim:
· to use computer technologies in class
· to improve my control of time
Materials:
· 2 clock faces, flash cards
· computer lab with Internet connection, projector, screen
· audio equipment, audio track
· handouts for matching, listening and speaking activities
Assumptions:
· Ss know how to tell the time in L1
· Ss know everyday routine verbs
· Ss enjoy interactive learning with the help of computer
Anticipated difficulties with task. Solutions:
· Learners might get confused telling the time. Teacher gives Ss necessary comments and more practice.

3.2 Practice telling the time in hours
3 min | ● Makes the settings-1 (time in hours only) in the computer. Makes comments and demonstrates how the clock works at the same time: 1. “You click on the cat's hand, get the time on the watch and put the right number of hours into a box at the bottom of the screen. Then click OK to check if your answer is right or wrong.” 2. “You click on the arrow button at the bottom of the screen and get the time written in a box. You show this time on a clock face. Then click OK to check if your answer is right or wrong.” ● Monitors and helps |
