RECRUITMENT

1.Recruitment it's the process of finding people for particular jobs.

2.When a company needs to recruit or employ new people, it may decide to advertise the job or position in the appointments section of a newspaper. People who are interested can then apply for the job by sending in a letter of application or covering letter (US cover letter) and a curriculum vitae or CV (US resume) containing details of their education and experience. A company may also ask candidates to complete a standard application form. The company's Human Resources department will then select the most suitable applications and prepare a short list of candidates or applicants, who are invited to attend an interview.

Another way for a company to hire is by using the services of a recruitment agency (US search firm) who will provide them with a list of suitable candidates. Headhunters or executive search firms specialize in finding the right person for the right job. When a company wishes to recruit a new person for an important position it may use the services of such a firm. The advantages for the employer are that it does not have to organize the costly and time-consuming process of advertising, selecting and interviewing suitable applicant. In some cases, the search firm may already have a list of people with the appropriate skills for the job. A suitable candidate invites to attend an interview the results of which are reflected in a special report written by a personnel manager. It sums up information about skills and qualities that a candidate possesses as well as the general impression which an interviewer has got.

3.There are 2 methods to recruit: old and new. The popular one is new. When applicants are required to submit to series of paper- and - pencil tests, role-playing exercises, simulated decision-making exercises, trick questions and so on to reveal and measure skills in communications, organization, management style, personality traits and motivation, ability to react, intelligence and suitability for a position.

And there is also old method. Years ago employers looked for experience. But having experience in a job doesn't guarantee that you can do it in a different environment. Ten years ago candidate could win a job with right look and right answers. But the reason to change method is clear: cost of bringing the wrong person is sometimes huge. Searching or training can cost from $5000 to $250.000.

4. CV or resume consists of some items to fill in. They may be different from one country to another but the main principles are the same in any country. They are: personal details, education, professional experience, skills, activities, references. The letter of application can be as important as the CV in that it often provides the first direct contact between a candidate and an employer. If this letter is not well written and presented, it will make a poor impression. The letter of application normally contains four paragraphs in which you should:

- confirm that you wish to apply and say where you learned about the job

- say why you are interested in the position and relate your interests to those of the company

- show that you can contribute to the job by highlighting your most relevant skills and experience

- indicate your willingness to attend an interview (and possibly say when you would be free to attend).

6.Stages: 1) interviewer is informed that the candidate has arrived. 2) Worker brings candidate into the office 3) Candidate is asked what he/she knows about the company and the job 4)Interviewer review the CV 5)Int. gives candidate his views on the job and the company 6)The candidate asks questions for about 5-10 min 7) The int. asks more general questions about candidate's life. Then put some trick questions

7. Tips.

1. Be ready to speak about yourself

2. Be ready to question: your strong and weak points

3. You should organized your thoughts logically, have self-confidence

4. You may be asked what you can do for the company

5. Try to overcome nervousness.
