	Elocution – красноречие, публичная речь (это что же получается? Ораторы заговаривают преступников до смерти?) Electrocution – казнь на электрическом стуле.
	The police called 911 to get an ambulance to take him to the mortgage.
	Mortgage – залог имущества, ипотека. Созвучно со словом morgue -морг.
	In Venice the people travel around the canals on Gorgonzolas.
	Подразумевалось слово gondolas.
	In England they have the custom of having tea and strumpets.
	Strumpets – проститутки. Следует употребить слово crumpets - лепешки.
	During the 1920s, several films were released in two virgins: one silent and the other with sounds.
	Virgins – девственницы. Естественно имелось в виду существительное versions – версии.
	A scout obeys all to whom obedience is due and respects all duly constipated authorities.
	Constipated – страдающий запором. Должно было быть слово ‘constituted’.
75.	The word trousers is an uncommon noun because it is singular at the top and plural at the bottom.
	Слово «trousers» (брюки) - необыкновенное существительное, так как в своей верхней части оно единственного числа, а в нижней - множественного.

	Population census – перепись населения. Census taker переписывает население и не имеет никакого отношения к его росту или уменьшению. На место слова increasing следовало бы поставить существительное counting.

	Conception – зачатие. Редко, когда доктора при этом присутствуют. Имелось в виду существительное «роды»- confinement.
	Married life and single life have many similarities and many indifferences.
	Вместо слова indifferences (нейтралитет, безразличие) надо использовать существительное differences (различия).
	Refrain means don’t do it. A refrain in music is the part you’d better not try to sing.
	Обыгрывается двойное значение слова refrain: 1) воздерживаться 2) припев.
80.	Probably the most marvelous fugue was the one between the Hatfields and McCoys.
	Fugue - фуга. Подразумевалось feud -кровная вражда. The true origins of the feud between these two men and their families are lost in the mists of history, but legend has it that the bitter feelings began in 1878 when Randolph McCoy accused Floyd Hatfield of stealing one of his hogs.
