Effective length for future arrival and departure track        
Grade section length        

Note; In a section with section design running speed to be 160 km/h,the minimum grade section length should be no

less than 400 m, which should not be used continuously for two and above.

3 The connections section for the grade of approach line shall accord with the requirements for the main track in adjacent section. When gradient difference in adjacent grades is more than 4%o in arrival and departure track and station track for passing through trains,it may adopt a vertical curve of 5 000 m radius,and the vertical curve radius shall be no less than 3 000 m under difficult conditions. When the gradient difference in adjacent grades of station track for non-passing through trains is no more than 5%o,the vertical curve radius may be no less than 3 000 m. For locomotive running track with grade separation,it may adopt a vertical curve with radius no less than 1 500 m under difficult conditions; elevated unlading track may adopt a vertical curve with radius no less than 600 m. 3. 2. 24 Turnout in main track of station shall not be arranged within vertical curve or point of gradient change, when it is hard to rebuild the existing track, it may be set in vertical curve with radius no less than 10 000 m if the section design running speed is no more than 100 km/h. Turnout in station track should not be set within vertical curve, if it has to set in such a manner under difficult condition, the vertical curve radius in train

passing through track shall be no less than 10 000 m;in track not for train passing through, the vertical curve radius shall be no less than 5 000 m.

3. 2. 25 If there is height difference on top of rail between two adjacent station tracks within the throat area in a station,it shall design series-connected grade in station track in considerations of limiting grade of main track, grade of station site, transverse slope of subgrade surface and thickness of ballast bed, etc. The range of series-connected grade should be the distance from the rear of turnout sleeper to fouling post or the start point of effective length for loading and unloading goods in freight track. The grade difference between adjacent grade sections in series-connected grade,in arrival and departure track and station track for passing through trains, should be no more than 4%o, in other station tracks,no more than 5%o,and grade section length shall be no less than 50 m.

When the fall is insufficient in series-connected grade,it may take adjusting measures based on the actual situations in the station such as reducing the transverse slope of subgrade, increasing the thickness of ballast bed, building double-layered ballast bed or extending series-connected grade properly into the range of effective track length,etc..
