The Superintendent is responsible for the overall management and supervision of project related construction activities.

· To manage and supervise the execution of offshore project operations, ensuring adherence to Company policy and contractual specifications as well as the installation manuals, QC/QA plan, approved by the Operations Supervisor.

· To organize and co-ordinate the use of the VESSEL and supporting vessels in liaison with the Master and to issue the work schedules for the VESSEL, support vessels and construction crew.

· To ensure a permanent contact with the Project Manager and to keep him informed about the policies and operational work inputs, in accordance with the contract.

· To organize and co-ordinate in the most safe and efficient way the assignment of the construction crew/subcontractors to the operational tasks to be performed.

· To represent the Project Manager to the Client Offshore Representative to discuss all project matters in particular complaints, variations to schedule and any contractual implications these may have, and liaise with the Project Manager on theses subjects.

· To keep PMO regularly informed of the work progress and to draw up a final report when the work has been finalized, underlining all technical lessons learnt.

· To ensure that all necessary project equipment is operational and that all the procedures are applied, being assisted on board by the Project Methods Coordinator, if requested.

· To ensure that all regulations, procedures and Corporate requirements for construction crew regarding safety at work, accident prevention and hygiene are adhered to, and that the work place is adequate for the works to be performed.

· To ensure that all documents and work reports, as provided in the contract or required according to Company procedures, are issued, up-dated and retained.

· To verify, with the assistance of the Master, that the methods, procedures and structural detailing are neither dangerous nor liable to imperil the health and safety of the personnel, the safety of the vessel and the protection of the marine environment.

· In emergency situations, to assist the Master, as directed.

 

AUTHORITY

 

· Assign duties to the construction crew

· Issue instructions and orders to the construction crew / subcontractors

· Request assistance from Company PMO and/or PMT as he finds necessary

· Issue Purchase Requests for construction activities

· Request training for construction crew
