Basic Information

Scouting (born Scouting) - a worldwide youth movement, engaged in physical, spiritual and mental development of young people so that young people can take a constructive place in society. Scouting is a voluntary, non-political educational movement for children and young people, open to all, regardless of their origin, race or religion, in accordance with the purpose, principles and method.

The principles of the Scout Movement’s Scouting's fundamental principles set out in the "Constitution of the World Organization of the Scout Movement." Three fundamental principles of Scouting act as law and philosophy on life for each scout. These principles are: Duty to God Duty to others, Debt to him. The first points to the spiritual content of a person's life, the second - the ratio of the individual to society in the broadest sense of the word, the third - the individual responsibility to himself. Duty to God is defined in the Scout movement as a "commitment to spiritual values, loyalty to religion, arising from the adoption of this duty. "Scout - a religious person, but nowhere in any documents, which are not specified in the name of the god he believes in and what religion professes. Duty to God - this is just the principle that each person should be filled with concrete content: the adoption of universal values, traditional country or ethnic group, religion, national idea, in the end, the idea of "building a brighter future for all workers." The issue is not what a person believes, and that he is not "mindless eater sneakers," and man is spiritually rich, utterly devoted to his ideals and ready for them to go through. Duty to others defined as "... faithful to his country, participation in society with recognition and respect for the dignity of compatriots, understanding and cooperation at the local, national and international levels, as well as recognition of the priority of human values, which ultimately ensures the integrity of all the world. "Scout - an active member of society. Firstly, he is a citizen of the country, taking part in its social and political life, to observe its laws, to respect the dignity of its citizens who are ready to make all their efforts for the benefit of its well-being and prosperity. Second, he is a citizen of the planet Earth, which imposes on him the duty to maintain the rights and dignity of every person, respect for cultural, ethnic and religious traditions of others, maintaining the integrity of the natural world. Third, he's just a man who sees his mission in the service of others, to help others to live in peace and good neighborly relations with all people, to strengthen the friendship and understanding among the youth of all nations. Debt to him. This principle can be defined as "the responsibility for their own development." Scouting suggests that young are responsible for improving their own abilities.

Goals

The purpose of Scouting Support to young people in the full development of their physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual capacities as individuals and as members of society. Implementation of Objectives Scouting can make a contribution to the improvement of the world. Scouting to reach their educational goals, it generally must provide the following general conditions that characterize the Scout Movement as:

1. Movement for young people, more focused on the teenage age group. Scouting is for all young people, but more so as an educational system, Scouting for teen age group. Pedagogical effectiveness of the educational system of Scouting to the older age groups is dependent on factors that are particular culture, social conditions, educational traditions, approaches to education in general and on the ratio of the youth in the community. In other words, the upper age limit of stay in the movement generally consistent with the overall level of maturity, which is reaching more people in the system does not need educational approaches Scouting to continue the process of self-education. Lower limit - corresponds to the initial level of social maturity required for the effective functioning of the educational system of Scouting, so as to ensure that adolescents, members of Scout Organization, could extract yourself from staying in it a useful experience, and social skills necessary to form, etc. Obviously, these levels of social maturity can specify only approximate, but they generally correspond to the period of life from 6-7 years to 17-18 year sage.

2. Movement of young people, supported by adults. Young adults support the Movement, the main role of which - providing the necessary conditions for the development of young people, promoting its self-education. Children, adolescents and young people, as members of the Scout Movement, act in partnership with adults, actively participate in decision-making, of course, to the extent appropriate to their level of maturity, social skills and life experience. All this provides social attractiveness and pedagogical effectiveness of Scouting.

3. Movement, open to all. Membership of the Scout Movement is open to all who are willing to be faithful to its objectives, principles and practices. In other words, the movement does not recognize the distinction between people on the basis of religious, ethnic or social status of the young man, his religion, or gender. Scout Movement is open to all, regardless of these characteristics.

4. Voluntary Movement. All members of the Scout Movement - children, teenagers, young people and their supporting adults - take it on their own volition. Coercion is not permissible when joining the Scout Movement, and attempt to keep Scout Organization without his will. Scouting this is different from the school, a visit which is usually required for a child of a certain age. Everyone - young or adult who has decided to join Scouting, must declare personal commitment to the Scout Movement. First and foremost - this is the commitment that the Scout should act in compliance with the values contained in the Fundamental Principles of the Movement. In other words - a voluntary membership implies the pursuit of objectives of Scouting, as each member of the Movement is committed to achieve the objectives of the National Scout Organization, to which he (or she) belongs. However, this obligation applies to their own personal development. For adults, this obligation is to ensure the conditions necessary for children, adolescents and young people for their personal development.

5. Non-political movement. Scouting is non-political in the sense that it is not involved in the fight for the power of political parties. At the same time, the educational system of Scouting, oriented to helping young people to be and develop as responsible and active as individuals and members of society. Young people cannot do it in a vacuum, isolated from the socio-political realities of the world in which they live. Therefore, the educational approach of Scouting encourages the development of individual abilities of young people forming their own opinions and taking on an active and constructive role in society. In this Scout should be in harmony with the values on which the Scouting.

6. Independent Movement. Despite the fact that the Scout Movement is working in close collaboration with a number of external organizations and is supported by his supporters around the world, Scouting at all levels is independent in the sense of freedom from the control of any foreign organization or individual.

7. The motion to supplement other forms of education. Scouting - it's non-formal educational movement. In other words, it is neither a part of the formal educational system (school, further education institution, etc.) or informal (friends, media, etc.) as well as Scouting offers a unique approach to education. Scouting does not seek to reproduce the fact that the school, the family, religious institutions, clubs, entertainment, etc. has on offer to young people. It is meant to complement what is already being done by others to fill the gaps that no one currently cannot fill.

8. Movements necessary for young people. Scouting aims to be necessary for young people in different socio-cultural areas in which they live and develop, and to keep their needs in a rapidly changing world. As a movement, Scouting has to constantly adapt to the changing world, to meet the aspirations and needs of young people, while at the same time, the right goals, principles and the Scout method. For newly created Scout Organizations difficult to determine what is essential and constant, and that is subject to change. This is no easy task also for Scout Organizations that have existed for decades, and some of them - nearly a century, attractive living memories of that "all that we have done."
