The only existing law on the protection of witnesses and collaborators of justice is Law 2928/01, which modified the legislation in the field of terrorism.

Article 187B of the Penal Code¹ contains measures in favour of collaborators justice in the field of organised crime (including terrorism), such as an acquittal being pronounced, a prosecution being dropped, a commuted penalty being imposed, or the execution of a penalty being suspended, re is also a provision encouraging victims to denounce actions committed against them by criminal organisations, since it is possible for the 5ecutor to suspend (on a temporary or permanent basis) the prosecution victim of organised crime involved in illegal immigration or prostitution. In addition, the suspension of the expulsion of foreigners involved in illegal immigration is provided if he/she denounces acts committed by criminal organisations. Furthermore, Article 9 of Law 2928/01 refers to protection 3sures such as being guarded by trained police personnel, audio-visual testimony, witness anonymity, a change in the components making up an identity, and the relocation of civil servants.

Possibility of use of other measures encouraging witnesses and collaborators of justice to co-operate with justice.

According to the Greek legal system there are no possibilities of this kind.

Article 187B of the Penal Code provides for the use of measures encouraging witnesses and collaborators of justice to fight serious offences lading organised crime, terrorist acts, and certain violations of humanitarian law.
