OBJECTIVE OF THIS DOCUMENT

1.1 The objective of this document is to define the business process model of Master Drilling.

1.2 This document further demonstrates how the requirements of the standards in paragraph 3 are satisfied.

COMPANY HISTORY, SCOPE OF SERVICES AND MISSION

COMPANY HISTORY

Master Drilling Group Head Office is based in the town of Fochville, + 80 km from the city of Johannesburg in South Africa.

The company was established in 1986 by Danie Pretorius, initially to address the raise boring requirements of the surrounding Gold Mines situated in the far West Rand. Within 7 years, the company expanded its operations to mines in the various South African provinces, Zimbabwe and Chile - South America.

Since inception, the company has pursued a policy of using specialized personnel and equipment as may be determined by our clients.

The Engineering Department employs a strong team of qualified engineers, designers and support staff using the very latest computer aided design and manufacturing equipment. The factory is capable of manufacturing or adapting existing raise bore machines to suit the requirements of the individual customer. Our Service Team provides a 24 hour support service.

Similarly, the Purchasing Department demands high standards from suppliers and professionally trained staff ensuring that while negotiating the keenest prices, quality and delivery are to the required standards.

A certified Quality Inspector conducts a thorough quality inspection of all manufactured components before dispatch.

To maintain the company’s reputation for the continuous working of the raise boring machines, our Stores Department stock over 2 500 component parts including in-house manufactured cutters. A 24 hour spares supply and delivery service is available to the on-site operations.

The raise bore machines, from the 24R to the 83R enable Mining Companies to consider our machines for any drilling application ranging from the drilling of drain holes to ventilation shafts.

Master Drilling’s ability to service the market adequately is based on the early recognition of the importance of qualified/efficient Operational personnel and equipment.

Our Operational Personnel undergo a specialized in-house training programme on the range of in-house raise bore machines and various drilling techniques.
