Ontario is one of the largest provinces of Canada, in terms of population, and stands divided into four main geographical regions. Ontario is bordered by Manitoba to the west, Hudson Bay and Quebec to the north, by the American states of Minnesota, Michigan, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania to the south. The official headquarters of the provincial government is at Queen’s park in Toronto.

The flag of Ontario is the Red Ensign. It includes the Union Jack, representing Ontario's ties to Great Britain, and the Coat-of-Arms of the Province. The Coat-of-Arms of the Province consists of a green shield with three golden maple leaves surmounted by the Banner of St. George, a red cross on a silver background. The banner indicates Ontario's close ties with Britain, while green and gold are Ontario's official colours; green symbolizes the land. Above the shield is a bear, with a moose and a deer supporting the shield; all representing the rich animal life of Ontario.

The official flower of Ontario is the trillium, a delicate white three-petalled flower that grows in profusion in the wild woodlands of the province in early spring. The official tree of Ontario is the Eastern White Pine. Ontario is Canada’s largest producer of fruits, vegetables and other agricultural products.

Toronto is the capital of the Canadian province of Ontario and is the largest city in Canada. With 2.5 million residents, it is the fifth most populated city in North America! Toronto is part of the region known as 'The Golden Horseshoe', which is home to over 8 million residents or approximately 25 percent of Canada's population. It was first founded in 1834 by John Graves Simcoe. The Great Toronto Fire of 1904 destroyed much of the downtown, but the city was rebuilt quickly. Toronto is now one of Canada's most multicultural cities with almost half of its residents born outside of Canada. The city is also the economic capital of Canada and home to the Toronto Stock Exchange. Toronto's CN Tower was the world's tallest free-standing structure for 34 years and is a popular tourist attraction. The city is home to the Blue Jays baseball team, the Raptors basketball team, the Argonauts football team, the Toronto FC soccer team and The Maple Leafs hockey team!
