SLOVAK UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE IN NITRA

Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra was established in 1946 in Nitra, which is the oldest city of Slovakia, often called as the „cradle“ of Slovak nation and centre of Slovak agriculture from the ancient times.

As the only agricultural university in Slovakia SUA has an exclusive position within the Slovak universities and nation-wide scope of activity.

In our 6 faculties:

Faculty of European Studies and Regional Development

Faculty of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering

Faculty of Engineering

we offer education, research and professional consultation services for the development of agriculture and related areas in Slovakia in connection with the international community.

We have been involved in European programmes for higher education (Tempus, Socrates, Leonardo, Lifelong Learning program etc.) for more than 15 years. In 2010 we have been awarded the ECTS Label by the European Commission for quality management of students and staff mobilities and proper implementation of the European Credit Transfer System. Since 2007 our students became part of Erasmus Student Network – students organisation that helps foreign students to „feel at home“after arrival to Nitra.

Long-term experience with exchanging students and staff with partner universities we would like to further extend also through cooperation within the Eranet Mundus and Eranet Plus projects.
