Following hot on the heels of a new five figure ad campaign for its Six Isles Island Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (November 2007), Ian Macleod Distillers has entered into a sponsorship/branding agreement for Six Isles with a 46 foot Bavaria yacht competing the Round Britain Experience.

The yacht, named Six Isles, will be part skippered by Sally Thompson, sister to Ian Macleod Distillers? Area Director for Northern Europe, Stuart Thompson. Sally will skipper the yacht on one of the route legs around Scotland. The yacht is branded with a mast flag and banners as well as branding on the yacht itself. The crew has also been provided with stock and point of sale to promote Six Isles throughout the voyage in over 60 UK ports including all the Scottish Whisky Islands that make up the Six Isles blend.

Iain Weir, Marketing Director continued:?This sponsorship is the perfect synergy for The Six Isles Blended Malts. Blended Malts are a great way of introducing a curious younger audience to the malt whisky sector as innovative newer brands such as The Six Isles and Monkey Shoulder do not have any of the traditional constraints of many of their single malt counterparts.
